I think the PSP will wipe the floor with Nintendo and Nokia...
Nintendo arent worried about Sonys introduction into the hand-held market....Well they were'nt worried about its Introduction into the console market and look what happened.....PSP will own all..IMO

What is the price on it? I haven't heard anything

You also have to wonder how long the battery life will be. This things got EVERYTHING!!! But because of its moving parts and true backlit display, I wonder how long the battery will last.

You can't compare the console to the handheld-market !
It's completely different.

Back in the 90s, Nintendo had SEGA as a (dying) competitor, but Sony jumped away and build their own console.
Now Nintendo is the ONLY big player in the handheld-market and they have over 90% there...
I think they are rather unbeatable...

Yes but Nintendo will be bombarded with the N-Gage and the PSP and the PSP was the highlight of Sonys E3 show...Nintendo are not unbeatable by any means

Nintendo seems to be a good stand alone company. But they seem to want to stick with the old and not want the new. Nintendo SHOULD of had a good 3d hand held by now.

When it comes to competitors, they don't usually stand a chance. It's only a matter of time when hand held systems make way and push Nintendo down on the market.

But yes, they will be hard to beat. Nintendo as the lead hand held company makes many more owners and many more sign-on's. And price wise will definitly make a difference.

N-Gage sounds very appealing, and can definitly put up competition.... but price may cost it since it's coming out way later in the line.

Can someone give a brief descriptioon of the PSP - you say it uses discs?

Does anyone here actually have a game boy? - Ive always seen them as a toy for ten year olds.

The thing about N-Gage is the price, what would you buy ? A new GameBoy playing thousands of old GB+GBC+GBA Games for about 150$ or a system with more features costing 250$-300$ ?
Yes, the japanese are freaks and a consuming society, but they still aren't that rich.

the n-gage is a mobile phone too though right - you can pay 2-300 dollars for a top of the line phone anyway.
