The first only grossed $37mil, if there gonna give this one a sequel, thy should give Crossroads a sequel. Everyone thinks this one is gonna gross like $18-25mil opening weekend. There doing the same thing as they did Charlie's Angels 2 and Legally Blonde 2, huge opening against there original. I see:

a total of around $40mil, just a little bit more than the original.
or (if it's bad):
$25-32mil.
what do you think?

I think I loved Jeepers Creepers, and if the sequel makes eight dollars at the box office, it'll be my eight dollars. Aside from that, I'd love to see it succeed and just surprise everyone, but I really don't think it will. It'll probably break even.

it's gonna be one of those movies that dissapoints when people predict high. 37mil, you DON'T need a sequel! and the trailer doesn't look good.

That is ur opinion of the trailer...Obvisouly they though it was worthy of a sequel...Deal with it, if u dont like it, dont see it...It is that simple...

The film made a 37 million profit in U.S. theatres not counting DVD/Video sales, international intake, and pay-per-view buys.
It costed 12 million dollars to make. If thats not a profit, I don't know what is.

Yea its a cheap movie and it has an established name we will probably see a string of sequels.

Jeepers creepers was imo one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

I think Jeepers Creepers was a good movie and I didn't think a sequel needed to be made but now that it is I'm gonna go see it when it's released

I think that Jeepers Creepers was a good movie to a certain extent.I'm only gonna go and see part 2 just because i'm curious......I really don't see why they made a sequel IMO it was not neccesary.

i thought jeepers creepers was a good movie...i liked the ending...cos this time the bad guy doesnt die and have to come back from the dead in the next movie (freddy or jason anyone ??)
i will see the second but i dont think it will be too good ..

The first Jeepers Creepers wasn't necessary...like lots of movies...like Triple X *shudders*

But oh well. My opinion is, it won't make that much as the first, because I honestly haven't seen much propoganda for it. I was beaten over the head with the trailer for the first one and only relented to go after someone offered to pay for me lol Glad it wasn't my $6 it got :D

I HATED, HATED, HATED, HATED this so called movie. Not every movie has to be good for me to like or buy it. But it should have at least something in it that would make you want to watch it. This piece of crapola wasted a lot of good film that could have been used on something better. Like another hour of Pearl Harbor or something. But of course, I could be wrong....Wait a minute, no I'm not. It sucked. I'm an understanding guy and usually say to each his own. But how anyone could like that thing and want to see a sequel, is WAY beyond me!

No. Part 2 is not needed!

Thank You Steve from Indy.

Words can not express how truly HORRIBLE the first movie was. I put it inthe #1 spot on my WORST MOVIES OF ALL TIME list. I was angry that I wasted my time on it. And I didn't even pay for it - it was a free rental at Blockbuster. It was such a pathetic excuse for a movie. Why they'd make a second one is beyond me - I suppose they'd have nowhere to go but up, but more than likely it's a bigger crapfest than the first!

you can watch the first eight minutes of the film online now, I dont think I will be watching it though.

The first eight minutes of the first movie were actually ok - if they had just finished it after eight minutes with the two kids being run over by that truck - the movie would of been alot better.

Okay lets here some facts first jeepers creepers cost 27mil not 12mil to make and grossed 37.9mil at the box office. It also made 10.69mil in DVD sales and 25.6mil in VHS sales, Jeepers Creepers also made 21.3mil in the international box office. Which brings the total up to 95.49mil. That's not even counting the pay per view grosses. Reason enough for a sequel?

So Janey before you bash a movie sequal you should check the facts. (and before you bash possibly profitable sequels.

So Crossroads cost 30mil to produce and market and grossed 37.1mil and got 10.67mil in VHS sales, 4.52mil in DVD, and 23.9mil international. Which brings the total to 76.19mil. So a sequel might make some money or break even and make a little money.

The only thing you have been right about box office wise so far as I can see are your Gigli posts.

You're all in denial. You know you liked the movie, you know it. Come on, admit it.

But really, I just don't see how a movie I liked so much can cause such unabashed hatred from usually level-headed folks. What was so damn bad about it? Personally I thought everything about it was top-notch, the acting, the directing, the Creeper himself. There were two weak spots in my opinion, the part where the Creeper limps into the police station (it was just kinda goofy) and the tag-ass ending (which I think is universally despised). But other than that I had literally no complaints about this movie. I know there's no defending it against people who are so apparently violently opposed to it, but I wish I could understand your points of view. I, too, am an understanding man who says "to each his own," but when Charlie's Angels 2 came out it made me want to punch somebody, so I guess I understand to some degree. Anyhoo, even though none of you recognize a masterpiece when it's laid before you :), god bless you all.

I think I'll go see the sequel two, possibly three times, just to spite you. Nyah-nyah!

EnterDeschain, I agree with you completely. I went into the first one and expected a mediocre horror film. But I got a top notch thriller IMO. Yes, the ending I didn't like very much, but everything else I thought was outstanding. Especially the Creeper. I'm the kind of guy who laughs at most monsters (opposite of southern's oppinion), but I thought the Creeper was extremely well done. I thought he was scary with the trench coat on, but when he took it off and sprouted those wings, it got 10 times scarier. Jeepers Creepers 2 is definitely needed, and I will go out and see it.

OK. But Crossroads And JC both got more on Rentals too, but still $38mil usually doesn't merit a sequel.

I dont think that a sequel is needed. I mean the first one was okay the first few times you saw it, but then i kinda lost interest in the movie.

Yup, and honestly I don't care.

Did we need a movie about aliens attacking the Earth? No, not really. But it happened, and it was great.

Did we need a sequel to Terminator 1? No not really, but it was great as well.

Did we need countless horror sequels? No, no we didn't, but some turned out well.

Do we NEED any sequels or ANY movies for that matter. No not really.

Point is, who cares? Let Hollywood do what they want. No one is forcing you to see the movie. And you never know when something might be good. Sometimes a first movie might suck, never know if maybe the writer on the sequel thought up a great version of it, and it turns out great. I'll take the chance.
