The new cover for the Scarface Anniversary Edition is on www.amazon.com. It looks good, hopefully the inserts and new specs on the disc are just as good. Has anyone heard anything else about it?

I like it. They keep the same basic style as the original cover, except they made it a little more modern looking.
It's funny, I was just thinking the other day. When is a new Scarface coming out. Now I know.

Cover looks awesome, does anybody know if this will be a one disc or two disc release. And is there any word on a Oliver Stone and Brian De Palma commentary.

Ah crap, now I gotta buy a new Scarface DVD. More money down the drain. Oh well, not like I'm not gonna go bankrupt from all the DVDs from now until November.

I think this was a great movie that would have been even better if they didn't use the f-word in every sentence!

Any news on the Gift Set version. I know it comes with the 1932 version as well. I heard rumors about trading cards and a money clip. Any word on this? I have seen one picture, it looks like a cigar case with the top open. Anypne seen any others?

From www.dvdanswers.com
Universal Home Video have decided to revise the artwork for the upcoming September release of Scarface: Anniversary Edition. Not a great deal has been changed but they have chosen to add a rather tacky looking pencil line making out the rest of Al Pacino's body which wasn't present on the original artwork.

Seeing as how it was made in the very early 80's expect it to be a little dated. The soundtrack is very 80's synth. But it is (IMO) one of the best movies made in my lifetime. Absolutely spectacular finale as well. I won't tell you what happens, but Pacino speaks a line that you will recognize, as it has been parodied in COUNTLESS shows and movies.

I can't believe some of you have not seen this movie. My favorite scenes:
-The whole part when Tony goes to Columbia with Murray Abraham's character "Omar" To meet with Drug Lord Sousa. (what a bad ass!) When Omar and Tony are sitting at the table dissing each other.
Omar: "What are you doing! Let me do the talking here. Watch my back!"
Omar: "Look i started you in this F***in business Tony. I tell you watch my back watch my Back!!"
Tony: "It's better than watching your front."
Omar: "fu** you.!"
Tony: "No Fu** you! How's that!?"
Best part here a few min later is what Tony says to Sousa after he asks him if he's an informant for the police, like Omar now hanging from a helicopter.
Sousa: "So Tony are you a chobato too?"
Tony: "Hey Sousa!" (he tosses the bonoculars back to him) I never cared for that piece of s**t. For all I know he had my friend Angel Hernandez killed but that's in the past. I never fu**ed over anybody that didn't have it coming to them you got that? I only got two things in this world. My word and my balls, and I don't break them for nobody you got that?! Nobody! So if you gonna make a move, make a move!"
(Sousa's reaction here is priceless! He learns this guy does not bull*****!)
Sousa: "Tony, you speak from the heart. But this Lopez you work for he's foolish to have guys like that (Omar) working for him."
Tony: "Let me go back and talk to Frank. I'll straighten this out."
Sousa: "You do that Tony, and we'll do business together a long time. But let me tell you something.. and I'll only tell you this ONE time..."
"Don't f**k me Tony..."
"Don't you EVER try to f**k me.."
-Or the scene where Tony grabs his sister out of that bathroom stall with the punk assed thug and tells her to go home.
Gina: "You don't tell me what to do Tony! I'm not a little girl now. I'll go out with whoever I want and If I want to f**k em I'll f**k em!!"
Tony: SMACK!!! (He knocks her across the room. When this scene played when i saw the film in a theatre about 5 yrs ago all the guys in the audience cheered Tony. I thought at first that they were happy seeing a woman put in place, a min later I figured out that they cheered because ANY guy would've done the exact same thing in his place after how she spoke to him for protecting her from scum.)
-Tony when he meets Frank after the Sousa scene:
Frank: "You telling me he told you Omar worked for the cops and you bought that line?! Let me tell you about Sousa that c**ksuc**r. He does not fly straight. You know what will happen? He will send a hit squad up here. There will be a war in the fu**k'in streets!"
Tony: "Don't worry I'll make some moves.."
Frank: "Oh you making moves now?" How do I know if you and Sousa are not working together now!" What about the Dias bros?"
Tony: (jumps up) "F**k Gasper Gomer and f**k the ****ing Diaz brothers, f**k 'em all I bury those cockaroaches! What they ever do for us?
Frank: "Look Tony, all I'm saying is you stole the deal."
Tony: "You calling me a liar Frank? Is that what you calling me?"
Tony: " I stole it?! Ok."
Let's go Manny.
(I think that went like that, or pretty close)
You gotta see this in a theatre guys. Pachino gets a standing ovation when he bites it at the end. He's that good.

I just got the new Anniversary Edition Gift Set. I purchased this for $44.99 at Best Buy. It is incredible. What a job they did with this at Universal. When you open the set, it is done in a black smooth fake alligator skin. When you open it the inside box top has a Scarface photo montage. The Anniversay Edition of the DVD rests in the middle of red satin. When you lift this part of the box set up, underneath you find a clear envelope containing 8 full size movie cards, the 1932 version of Scarface on DVD and a gold and silver embossed money clip with the Tony Montana TM logo from the front cover and the phrase "the world is yours" on the back. The actual DVD is excellent, with great features and menus, any true Al Pacino or Scarface fan MUST own the gift set.

Some coincidence because when I bought the 2 Disc Scarface AE, the man behind me had the gift set in his hands. Of course, I wasn't aware of any Scarface Gift Set so I asked him what it was and he told me everything it had and whatnot. Thinking to myself, I said "what a waste of money". I could honestly care less about the 1932 Scarface movie, movie cards, and money clip. The AE DVD was all I needed. I couldn't be happier.

The DVD has a Spanish language track and some people might think I'm crazy but this is an entirely different dubbing in Spanish, I know because I'm hispanic and I speak Spanish and in this dubbing the voice for Tony has more of a Cuban accent.
A couple of weeks ago I saw another dubbing of Scarface on the spanish channel Telefutura and the voices didn't have any accents to distinguish them.
It's quite possible that 2 dubbings exist after all the same thing was done with Akira.
