View Full Version : Northfork
Hi everyone,
Has anyone seen Northfork? I read some interesting things about it, but I don't know when or if it will be playing near me. I'm a big Daryl Hannah fan.
I'd like to hear more about this movie. Thanks!
The best movie I have seen this year so far Is Northfork. From the people who brought you the quirky Twin Falls Idaho, Northfork is a visual masterpiece that captures you and does not let go. The cinematography by M. David Mullen is Oscar worthy and brings out the beauty of the Montana setting very vividly. The direction by Micheal Polish is solemn and entrancing. His brother Mark stars in the film and also co-wrote it. The plot is basically about a small Montana town that is going to be flooded because of a damn's construction, but it is much more about the way modern meets tradition and how people react to change and faith. Northfork is an extraordinary movie with excellent performances by Darryl Hannah, James Woods, Nick Nolte and more.

I thought that this was a great film. It is definitely subtle and pushes the audience to really try and get inside the film to understand what is going on. There were a number of people in the theater who grew too uncomfortable and ended up leaving. I thought it was one of the top films that I had seen during the year up to that point. The acting was great and the characters were original. The cinematography and sound were also amazing. I would highly reccomend this film for those who are looking for something challenging and outside of mainstream film making.
