Hey remember the show American Gladiators? i remembered watching that show on saturday afternoons. it was cool watching the competitions and the competitors compete in such events as the gauntlet, but i have to say all id really care about was the last competition. i think it was called the eliminator. the show somehow slowly being removed. i think it can fare up nicely today with new and old competitions being added. what do you think?

Rico from the WWE was a gladiator.
I think it would be a great show updated.

That's funny, just watched Hot Shots Part Deux in which they have that gladiator spoof at the end.

I just remember seeing some guy snap his leg on the giant carousel pyramid. It was gross...very simlar to Joe Theismann's leg getting snapped. I don't know if that lead to its downfall. If you're looking for something almost as vicious, I recommend Slam Ball on TNT...mid-air collisions.

It sorta reminds me of Pong but with real people.

Im sure Im not the only one who remembers the event where the women gladiators swing from the rings and try to get the contender of the rings by suffocating them with their thighs.

I loved American Gladiators, still do, whenever its on i make sure to watch it, just cause its so freakin weird, but cool at the same time.

I don't know if anyone remembers the Nintendo game for it, wow that was an awesome game, and still in my collection.

I loved the part in the show where the contestant runs through the series of guns, while the Gladiator shoots at them trying to hit them, very nice very nice

Also, the black dude from the 1st Mortal Kombat was an American Gladiator. He was the 1st one that fought Lui Kang and sported the dreads.

Somewhere out there is an episode of AG with Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as a contestant. I saw the show prior to this one and they always showed the contestant for the new show just before the credits rolled. Now bare in mind that this was not a celeb show, it was a regular episode. This occured back before the Chili Peppers were such a known band, they were just a LA area punk band. I am guessing this aired somewhere around June 1, 1993. This is one AG episode I am dieing to see.

Hey sniktawt,

You are a fool if you think Slamball sucks. I got into it last season and freakin loved it. Guys get the crap kicked out of them on that show. Some guy broke his foot off of his ankle in tryouts. The show rocks. You suck. I am not going to say it is better than Am. Glad., but it is damn close.

hey slam ball is ok i guess. but i would rather watch a real nba game anyday over slam ball. the first time they showed promos, it looked very cool, but when i saw the game it was thinking what the hell? with all of the capabilities i expect more and better dunks. the nba dunkers are easily better than the ones i see on slamball. an ok show but i expected more out of it.

ps. hardknocks, dont make fun of the person, but the argument.

Alright, but it is a pretty sweet show. I guess the new season will be better anyway, b/c I saw that there was some pretty horrific injuries coming up. Has anyone else seen the Road to Slamball commercials?

I like Slamball...

It's fun, entertaining....

and I'm waiting for someone to get some kind of rediculous injury on camera...

Nothing more entertaining than waiting for someone to get their leg ripped off... mid air.

American Gladiators and Most Extreme Elimination challenge are good too....

OH YEAH!!

Speaking of Slamball, who saw last nights game? what a rockin' show!! It is my favorite by far. Hooker is a complete badass, ripping around and dominating everyone on the court. I am a huge Diablos fan though. Did anyone see the Party with Spike? It is like a party w/ Pam Anderson and other girls, they all get real drunk and party I guess? I saw the commercial for it, it looked awsome.
