Bought "28 Days Later" on DVD about a week ago. Didnīt have time to watch it until today. An absolutely fantastic horror movie! Incredibly atmospheric! Also got the "Trainspotting: The Definitive Edition" (another Danny Boyle movie) 2-disc DVD a couple of days ago, and watched that particular movie earlier this afternoon. Still a classic.

Are we still doing this past July 4th?

Yesterday I saw Bad Boys for the first time. Great action and very entertaining. Classic Bay. Maks me want to see the sequel. I'd give it an 8.5/10.

Thursday was Blade II. Great flick. Some hate it, but what the heck? A fun and entertaining sequel. 8.5/10

Thursday also featured The Wild Bunch. Kinda boring at first, but gradually picked up speed with one kick ass finale. 8.5/10

Wednesday was the smart and funny The Graduate. A perfect 10.

Also on Wednesday, Talk to Her (Hable Con Ella). It's an intriguing film. Surprising too. :) 9/10.

Tuesday was Tree Colors: Red (Rouge). I made the unfortunate mistake of seeing it before Blue and White since it's the last part of a trilogy. Still effective, but the end kinda ties them all up. I'll have to check them out. A solid film, but a tad confusing. 9/10.

Monday was Fargo. Good movie, but I didn't like it as much as everyone else. 8.5/10/

Sunday was Magnolia (10/10) and Saturday was Star Trek: Nemisis (8/10).

I'll check out The Pianist later today.

Could no longer resist the temptation of buying the brilliant American 4-disc VISTA SERIES Pearl Harbor DVD. Although, I didnīt watch the entire movie. I watched from about 10 minutes before the whole Pearl Harbor bombing sequence, and then watched the movie till the end. Horrible movie, but listening to that Pearl Harbor sequence on 5 speakers in your living room is quite an experience indeed.

I'm sure you meant Pulp Fiction was 20/10 and A Clockwork Orange was 11/10, because you did not give those two great movies such a crappy score. If you did, you did it just to piss people off, and that's not cool either.

I saw the Others this morning. I'd give it maybe an 8.

I find that I'm a bit too modest on my scores. Maybe I should start rating it out of 4 or something because to me, 0-5 don't seem to be used. But then again, a 50 is failing, so why not? I see 8 as a generally good movie. Much like a B (80) is average.

I watched "The Pianist" the other day. Good movie, but not the best I've ever scene. The film, comes out of the gate stumbling. They had to cut the film to a 2:30 running time, and to me, it looks like they cut a lot of that out of the begining. The first thirty minutes of the film are just kind of sloppily edited. I think the film needed to be longer.

The acting was pretty good, but Brody did not blow me away with his performance. On the other hand his make-up was very good.

Good story, great music.

If I was making this film, it would have been in Polish, and it would have been split into two 2 hour movies. But I didn't make it.

As is, I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars

I watched the first Star Wars: A New Hope. It's really good, though, being a seventies movie, it achieved alot for it's special effects. I was looking in an Acadamy Award book, it won 4-5 awards. Thats good. I give it a ***.5 stars out of 5.

Das Boot

I watched "Das Boot" recently.

Its nearly perfect. I really can't find any flaws with this film. I watched a bit of the commentary, and I heard Peterson talking about how they got the actors for the smaller roles from all over Germany and Austria, as their many different dialects and accents would give it an authentic feel to the German speaking audiences.

These are the small details that make films great. Directors going the extra distance, giving films greater depth.

The whole film was impressive. The acting, the sets, the pacing, the minute details, the authenticity, etc.

4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

ok, the past few days while I was surfing the web, my brother subjected me to a few movies:

Dracula 2000: 0.5 out of 5.0

Rush Hour II: 2.5/5-not a bad movie, it was certainly funny at times, and it was a good way to pass the time, but Jacki has made better films, and compared to other films of this kind, like say Lethal Weapon, it just isn't as good.

I saw it a few days ago. It's a terrific documentary about Terry Gilliam's cursed project. Part of it's funny, part of it's tragic, but it's all good. It would be good for any aspiring filmmaker to watch this and see the pitfalls of the buisness.
