Superhero Movie.

I saw that they had it on PPV, so I figured I'd give it a watch. I actually liked it and thought it was pretty funny. Drake Bell surprised me as well as some of the stuff they spoofed. I'm glad they kept the cultural references to a minimum.

Usually, I'm not very keen on these, but I gave it a chance since it wasn't made by the same people who did Date/Epic/Disaster Movie.

I'd recommend it to anyone and I'll be buying this on DVD soon.

The original was good, as well. But I have problems with Tarkovsky's dialogue.

Besides the guy I saw it at the cinema with I think you're the only person i've come across that shares my love for the Clooney version; everything about it seemed near perfect to me, particularly the score. It's one of those films i never get tired of watching, the visual/audio combination is kind of, for want of a better word, hypnotic at times.

I never understood the hate.

I totally agree. A fantastic, haunting ending -- I'm especially fond of the narrative towards the end. And the soundtrack by Cliff Martinez is fantastic.

This may sound silly but when those credits start rolling and Into the West starts playing to it with the drawn pictures of each character as the actor's name appears, I feel myself swelling with emotion and could start crying if I thought about it too much. LOTR was such a huge part of my life when it came out, I made friends, went places I probably wouldn't have otherwise and it brought me here, to these forums. Everytime I watch it I'm just simply reminded of why in my opinion they are the greatest movies I've ever and probably will ever see.

It really just depends on how you define 'chick flick'. There weren't any moments in it that made me roll my eyes and say "this is not for me" the way every other chick flick I've seen has, and I did laugh quite a few times because the comedy really was smart. Plus, Ryan Reynolds was pretty good.
