The Burning - 3 1/2 out of 4 stars

Better than I expected for an 80s slasher. Great effects by Tom Savini, some funny comic relief moments (a young Jason Alexander), and it's actually quite scary thanks to the music of Rick "Yes" Wakeman. The Weinstein's 1st movie with a story by the guy (Brad Grey) who runs Paramount now.

I just saw the "jump to a nightmare" parts of 3 on the DVD and they're way better and scarier than the lame-o part 2. I'll definitely see the whole thing today. Plus, Frank Darabont wrote it so it has to be an improvement.
