Doctor Strange: One of the better efforts from Marvel Studios, yet still falls in the realm of "Too damn short". There was also some creepy tension in the flashbacks of Strange and his sister that raised an eyebrow or two. Nevertheless, the film was entertaining, and would love to see if the property gets turned into a live action feature.

Dreamgirls 4/10 - I know a lot of people like this film, but while I personally love musicals... I almost wished it was more like Walk the Line where it was a movie with music in it rather than a musical. By the end of it I felt like the movie had lasted too long and had too much singing, and there were only a couple of songs I really liked.


300 on blu ray - 10/10 - 2nd viewing loved it just as much as the first time :)

What a difference 50 years makes. This is the way a remake should be done.
It stayed close to the originals storyline, but expanded upon it and made it it's own. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale did a terrific job recreating the roles originally done by Glen Ford and Van Hefflin. A great film and a must see for western fans.

DOA: Dead Or Alive: Despite good fight scenes, and references to the games(volleyball anyone?) the rest of the film was severely lacking. Some good casting choices, but mostly bad ones (Devon Aoki as Kasumi?:rolleyes: )

The weirdest thing is if the film was CGI like the games, I would've probably given this film like a 9. While I commend the director for trying to do this film in Live Action, perhaps the best way to have gotten this film to make money was to make it CGI.

Oh well, at least it's better than his last movie.

I still rate this the most surprising film of the decade for me for a movie that I barely knew anything about, took the chance and bought it cause sounded interesting after I read the back of the cover, and loved every friggin' inch of it. A couple of very nice twists to it.

Usually if I chance buy it's a so so film for me.

I watched Hairspray at the movies and Deep Blue Sea on DVD

I thought HS was excellent, maybe a little girly. but it was fast paced, close to the bone, funny and uplifting. Movies should have those qualities sometimes.

i think DBS is under sold sometimes, though it seems to leech directly off Jurassic Park and Jaws.
