"The Virginian" (1946)

Arriving at Medicine Bow, eastern schoolteacher Molly Woods meets two cowboys, irresponsible Steve and the "Virginian," who gets off on the wrong foot with her. To add to his troubles, the Virginian finds that his old pal Steve is mixed up with black-hatted Trampas and his rustlers...then finds himself at the head of a posse after said rustlers; and Molly hates the violent side of frontier life.

Decent remake of the Owen Wister novel, not quite as good as the Gary Cooper version, but not a bad film at all.

Nice to see more screen time for Liz Banks. She's way hotter and more talented than Dunst although I liked KD in Marie Antoinette.

"Adio's Sabata"
-Yul Brynner

Master gunslinger Sabata helps some Mexican revolutionaries steal a wagonload of gold.

The "imitation" Sabata is IMO a terrific western adventure, much better then the official sequel "Return Of Sabata"

For those who don't know, this film was not originally going to be a Sabata film. It was originally going to be titled Indio Black, but the title was changed to cash in on the original Sabata film.

Lee Van Cleef was unavailable to play Sabata, as he was committed to making The Magnificent Seven Ride! (1972) where he played Chris Adams, a role made famous by Yul Brynner in The Magnificent Seven (1960). Instead, Brynner signed on for the role of Sabata, a role made famous by Van Cleef.

Friday the 13th V: A New Beginning - 4/10

Yup, it's just as bad as the F13 fans say it is.

Yet to see it. In fact, I've never seen Parts III, V, VI, VII or Jason X. V is the one without Jason at all right?

Literally, I've been trying to think and there was only one thing about the movie that bugged me, and even bugged actually sounds like a strong word to describe it, it wasn't bad, I just went "damn" Norrington's Death, not a movie flaw really, I just wish he coulda lasted a little longer in the film Nothing about it displeased me at all. And honestly, I saw it yesterday, but meh. lol.

Yep, it's just somone killing people in a hockey mask to avenge his overweight son being axed by someone in a mental institution where Tommy Jarvis is at this point III and VI are my personal faves.

Smokin' Aces - 6/10

"The Violent Men" (1955)
-Glenn Ford, Barbara Stanwyck, Edward G Robinson, Brian Kieth

A Union ex-officer plans to sell up to Anchor Ranch and move east with his fiancee, but the low price offered by Anchor's crippled owner and the outfit's bully-boy tactics make him think again. When one of his hands is murdered he decides to stay and fight, utilising his war experience. Not all is well at Anchor with the owner's wife carrying on with his brother who anyway has a Mexican moll in town.

Good Action, Great Cast, and a well told story. Very entertaining.
