Well don´t get me wrong, I sure think that Temple is good aswell, but I just like Raiders and Last Crusade a lot more and compared to them, Temple falls flat. It has some memorable moments in it, like the mine car chase and the bridge scene. But overall I don´t really like the setting and to be honest, Kate Capshaw was annoying as hell.
But I get that some people might prefare it due it´s darker setting. My favorite one is still Last Crusade, it´s just the perfect adventure movie for me.

ARTHUR AND THE MINIMOYS,meh.
I loved David Bowie's character,I have a thing for bad guys.
Madonna's role was a doll. They were pretty cute but I just wasn't enjoying it.

Children of Men - 9.5/10 - Amazing. There is so much attention to detail and atmosphere that the action sequences feel like documented reality. One of the best films of the year. Loved it.
The Queen - 8/10 - Excellent performances across the board. I greatly admire the filmmakers for their attempts at blending a fictional narrative with the real-life events and political figures it is based on. A solid, well-made film.

Deja Vu - kind of a silly remake of Enemy of the State. Paula Patton, a Halle Berry lookalike, was eye candy as the heroine. Parts of New Orleans still look trashed. Nice to see Val Kilmer again. 8.5/10
Blood Diamond - Nice documentary style movie. A little drawn out, graphic and violent at times. Some nice camerawork of the continent. Certainly Oscar material for al the co-stars: DiCaprio, Dhimon Hoonsou and Jennifer Connelly. The 7th Heaven TV dad Stephen Connelly was in this one. 9.5/10

Pan's Labyrinth - 8/10 - Del Toro proves once again that he makes better films outside Hollywood, but his latest still doesn't quite achieve greatness. There's no question that the visuals are extraordinary, but beyond the brilliantly stylized creatures and sequences of jolting shock/suspense, this film doesn't offer much in the way of substance. Overall, the characterizations come off as two-dimensional, so you never really care about anyone, but that doesn't deny this from being a thrilling, adult-oriented fairy tale (with some extremely graphic violence/gore, so be warned).
Letters From Iwo Jima - 9.5/10 - One of the most thoroughly moving statements against war I've seen. This was a truly powerful moviegoing experience that brought a whole new level of humanity to the Japanese troops that strove to defend Iwo Jima from the overwhelming American forces. Filmmaking at its finest. A must-see.

The Big Trail (1930)
Breck Coleman (John Wayne) leads a wagon train of pioneers through Indian attack, storms, deserts, swollen rivers, down cliffs and so on while looking for the murder of a trapper and falling in love with Ruth.
For it's time , this was a true film epic and even now it still holds up pretty well. The only thing I find strange about this movie is seeing this young skinny 20 year old kid walking around and hearing John Wayne's voice coming out of his mouth. I guess we were all young once.
Now lets jump ahead 31 years to my next movie of the day:
The Comancheros (1961)
Texas Ranger Jake Cutter (John Wayne) arrests gambler Paul Regret, but soon finds himself teamed with his prisoner in an undercover effort to defeat a band of renegade arms merchants and thieves known as Comancheros
Very entertaining fun western adventure. Good cast lots of action.

Unfortunately I went to see Blood Diamond. What a bad, bad movie. Leo DiCaprio sounded more Kiwi than South African, Jennifer Connelly was hot but annoying the only saving grace was Djimon Hounsou who is an awesome actor. It just confused me that it went from being a serious movie about the diamond smuggling trade to being an almost Rromancing The Stone-esque farce. And, not to ruin it for everyone, but the Feel-Good ending sucked the big one. Do not waste your money people, if you want good action then go see Casino Royale instead.

Smokin' Aces - 8/10 - High on style and action, but low on character depth, despite its occassional attempts which feel rather out of place amidst the shallow chaos. Sounds like I didn't enjoy this, but I actually did. It's the escapist fun I was looking for. I just wanted more Piven screen time is all.
Wolf Creek - 7/10 - I admire that they strived for realism and none of the characters were particularly favored over the others. I also liked that there was no attempt at making the killer all that mysterious. He's just a crazy loon who gets his kicks from preying on the weak. Has a few tense moments.
