This suprisingly wasn't that bad. Although I think what made me enjoy it most was seeing paris hilton with a big pole stuck in her forehead. I'd watch any movie seeing paris die in a horrible way;)

Meh...wasn't that bad, wasn't that good. Dragged in the middle. If they'd flown the whole movie, my rating would have been much better. I so love Jamie Foxx though. He died WAY too soon. They could have done without the romance and sent Foxx into Korea and sent Lucas to rescue him. I would have liked it much better. Not a big fan of Biel.

IMO, Revolver wasn't that bad. It's just that the movie didn't do a good job at making the story clear enough, too much things that they assume you're smart enough to find out. I liked the main theme/idea that Ritchie made. I saw it a few times, I still don't get some things completely but I thought it was good. The first trailer that came out for this movie is sort of misleading. Worth a watch, its a unique movie.

Yes there are many plot holes but strangely I think that is what Steven Spielberg was going for. He did not want the viewers to know everything about the aliens motives because it is more ubrupt and shocking. He also wanted to make it realistic and if that really happened to us we would have no idea why the aliens were attacking. So with that I watch the film and just go with it, and it is extremely thrilling. So my advice to people who have yet to see the film, ignor the plot holes because, truthfully, they are supossed to be there.

actually I was really talking about stupid stuff like the guy filming the aliens attacking the people when all the electronics were shut off. Also if the alien tri-pods did have shields ,that protected them from heavy missles and grenades, on them, how comes tom cruise was able to cut off one of their tenticals with an axe I really wish they would have fleshed out more on the aliens when they are out of their tri-pods. What was the point of even showing them?

True, I actually never thought about that one... but I remember that being in the book so I think thats why they put it in. But like I said, just dont think to hard and you will enjoy the film much more! :) But did you like the ending? A lot of people hate the ending, I dont at all. It fit perfectly with the film and was true to the story. It was also nice to see an action film end on a thought provoking note... what did you think?

It was my fault for not paying that much attention to the movie. I loved the music and the visuals but I didn't really like the story. I was a bit harsh on the rating, I thought it was pretty good though.

Just got back from King Kong playing at The Grove; Man, King Kong is just like Hulk. Even the action where the t-Rex comes out (E) I couldn't believe it. Scene by scene, it was so similar to Hulk, it was eerie. The Rock scene. Jaw Breaker scene. scene with Nioami Watts looking intently, Kongs hand enwrapping her, the scene on top of the Empire State Building. God. Wtf? The whole damn movie had this Hulk feel to it--and you will understand what I mean once you watch it. The only difference is that with Hulk you can watch it three times four times and still find new and interesting things, whereas Kong you can only watch it once; noone will watch it twice. Another scene is straight from two Disney films: one--The Lion King, the other--Bambi. And the Lion King one really pissed me off. Wtf was wrong with the Long Necks. It's as if Peter Jackson wanted to symbolize their stupidity, by a mush pile, to represent his sucess over wieght problems. This movie, like any other of his films, is lacking in all areas pertaining to character, dialouge, and plot--but exonerated because of action, and it's wide panaromic vision. Nothing more.
I wonder how the hell BrokeBack Mountain got 7 Oscars, and Kong got none.
Noone is going to watch some gay people doing it, that's just whack.
***
You see that's the funny thing: even though people hated Hulk, because it progessed slow, or the CGI looked like Jelly Bunny--it was unique, whether or not the general audience liked it or not. It was unique.
Whereas Kong, not only had crappy dialouge and flimsy plot, but also, it had no substance. Nothing for repeat viewing. All it was, was visuals. Even the ending for Kong had no message or symbolization, unlike the Hulk, even if people hated the father son relationship.
After you've watched Kong, go home, sit back, pop in the DVD, and watch Hulk again. And you'll notice something totally different.
Kong < Hulk
2.9/5 < 4.1/5
