Suprisingly good. I hesitated seeing it for a while, but picked up a copy of it on DVD for 3 bucks today. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up enjoying it. Very nice action scenes and the effects were pretty good on average. I'd like to see a sequel, but I doubt that's going to happen

What saved this movie from the disaster it could have been was a actually quite decent Halle Berry, a fun but campy Sharon Stone, flashy action sequences, creative photography and a neat direction style. The direction is in no means good but its easy on the eyes. The plot is horrible, something about an evil makeup company (!) but it actually kinda works for the movie world created in the film. I guess its kinda quilty pleasure in a way with Berry in a leather suite and wip getting the bad guys but this will go in movie history was one of the campiest comic book films to date.

Alexander- 8/10
I had no real problem with this film. I thought that it was perfectly fine. The performences were all around really good. Colin Farrell was great as Alexander but the real star, at least for me, is Angelina Jolie, she just ate the scenery. The way she slinks around and has that crazy accent and those outfits that detailed every curve, I loved it! I also loved the battles, they had a realism to them that I have not seen in years. I also liked they gay themes that Oliver Stone put in the film. They were done in a very mature way and added a deeper emotional impact to Alexander. It was a very different way to protray him and I liked it a lot. But the one thing I did have a problem with was the editing, I really knew nothing about Alexander the Great so it was hard for me to follow the plot when the timeline kept jumping from present to past. It would have worked better if they just kept it in order. Overall this was a good film. I don't see why critics loathed it so much, I really can't. I have to say that ALEXANDER was one of the most underrated films in all of Hollywood and I mean that. It should have never gotten the beating it did.

I really enjoyed this one. It had recently won the Robert De Niro best performance tournament and must say that i agree. He's portrayal of Jake La Motta, from his young day as a boxer, to his older days as a stand up comedian was suberb. But IMHO, i have to say that performance wise must go to Joe Pesci. He was absolutley outstanding, every time he spoke he captured the screen, from when he didn't want to hit Jake in the face to absolutley bruising up people with taxi doors, he was magnificent.
The boxing was also well done. the close ups of the skin breaking open and the blood spraying out was gruesome in its own way and made you feel the pain of the boxer getting hit at the time. The sound effects actually sounded decent in this film, unlike the majority of the rocky films, which sound like some is getting slapped rather than hit ;)
Overall, a more-than-average film, increased by outstanding performances and terrific boxing scenes.

Is watching it on DVD as cool as watching it on the big screen? What special features are there?
Well it's not going to be as good as watching it on the big screen, but the transfer is amazing to DVD. The sound and video are all awesome. There is only one special feature, an 8 minute or so documentary. But I just had to buy it beacuse it is my favorite film of 2005, so far.

well thats a problem. Yes I do have my license, but for some reason your allowed to drive at 16,but you have to be 17 to rent R rated movies. And second off I'm leaving for camping tommorow in the morning, so I won't be able to rent it untill I get back;)
