The Grudge - 8/10 best night you've ever had being scared!

"Stevie" a documentary where the filmmaker revisits a young man with a troubled childhood - 13 years after they were paired together in the "Big Brother" program.

Positives : Very disturbing to see how family conflicts can destroy one person's life.

Negatives : At over two hours, it is a little too long.

Get Shorty (1995)

Chili Palmer, a Miami mobster, loan-sharks for Ray Bones, a violent thug with a big chip on his shoulder. Ray sends Chili to Vegas after a bad debt, and a casino boss enlists Chili to find an even bigger deadbeat: Harry Zimm, Hollywood player and producer of low-budget horror films. In Tinseltown, Chili meets Harry, as well as his scream- queen leading lady, Karen Flores; Harry's drug-dealing financier, Bo Catlett; and Karen's ex, Martin Weir (aka "Shorty"), a big star with an ego to match. Chili finds his Mafioso skills lend themselves quite nicely to what he's always really wanted to do: producing movies.

The setting is the never-ending war between the police and the traids of Hong Kong. Chan is a cop who's been assigned to undercover work inside the traids for so long that he's been able to rise through the ranks to a position of some authority. Lau, meanwhile, is a secret member of the triads who has infiltrated the police force with an equal level of success. As they feed their bosses information on the plans and counter-plans of the organizations they pretend to serve, they both begin to feel the stresses of their double lives as they become torn between the oppressive obligations they owe to their superiors and the growing camaraderie they share with the foot soldiers around them. As the two organizations become increasingly aware of the moles in their midsts, the race is on for Chan and Lau to try and get out of the game alive.

Blade Runner - Director's Cut (1982)

Deckard is a Blade Runner, a police man of the future who hunts down and terminates replicants, artificially created humans. He wants to get out of the force, but is drawn back in when 4 "skin jobs", a slang term for replicants, hijack a ship back to Earth. The city that Deckard must search for his prey is a huge, sprawling, bleak vision of the future. This film questions what it is to be human, and why life is so precious.

Finding Neverland (2004)

Director Marc Forster's follow-up to MONSTER'S BALL is FINDING NEVERLAND (previously known as J.M. BARRIE’S NEVERLAND), a tale of magic and fantasy inspired by the life of James Barrie, the real-life author of the children’s classic Peter Pan. Set in London in 1904, the film follows Barrie’s creative journey to bring Peter Pan to life, from his first inspiration for the story up until the play’s premiere at the Duke of York’s Theatre - a night that will change not only Barrie’s own life, but the lives of everyone close to him.

King Arthur (2004)

Although the legend of King Arthur has not been historically established as fact, this film will attempt to place King Arthur within his possible historic context, smack between the fall of the Roman Empire (just a few hundred years after Gladiator) and the long road through the Dark Ages (roughly set in the 5th or 6th centuries). The magic and fantasy of the legend will be absent (Merlin may still be around; just not performing the magic seen in Excalibur).

A convict (James Cole) reluctantly volunteers to be sent back in time to 1996 to gather information about the origin of the epidemic (who he's told was spread by a mysterious "Army of the Twelve Monkeys") and locate the virus before it mutates so that scientists can study it. Unfortunately Cole is mistakenly sent to 1990, six years earlier than expected, and is arrested and locked up in a mental institution, where he meets Dr. Kathryn Railly, a psychiatrist, and Jeffrey Goines, the insane son of a famous scientist and virus expert.

I.W. was a pretty funny (intentionally) movie but the wires used for the F/X could be seen. I.A. was good too, the Invisible Man parachutes into WWII Germany to steal info for the Allies. I enjoyed Red Planet more when I was a kid. It doesn't hold up too well.

In a way the confusion really starts when a pair of antique double-barrelled shotguns go missing in a completely different scam.

yeah I love the tap dancing scene. The music was just so great. Also I like the ending

At first you though zatoichi could actually see when he opened his eyes, but at the last thing he says at the end shows that he really is blind. Unless i took it wrong. It would have been a nice twist though.

the action was good also. Zatoichi is really awsome.but I got confussed with some flashbacks

Like the one where it shows zatoichi fighting those guys in the rain. Did it have something to do with the story? Oh well it was a kickass scene. Also the one before zatoichi fights(eh I can't think of his name) the ronin at the end. It shows him getting sliced with a blade. Could you explain that to me?

Blue Beard stars John Carradine as a puppeteer/painter linked to a series of murders. Pretty good but slow. Corpse is a fun Bela Lagosi movie featuring a very Lois Lane-esque character, I almost expected Superman to show up. This may be my favourite movie off the 50 Horror movie classics set. I'd give some of these movies a higher rating if the video quality wasn't so poor on most of these movies. It looks like they were transferred to disc from old VHS tapes.

At first you though zatoichi could actually see when he opened his eyes, but at the last thing he says at the end shows that he really is blind. Unless i took it wrong. It would have been a nice twist though.

He's definatelly blind.

the action was good also.

I don't think it had anything to do with the plot. Maybe he remembered that specifically because it was raining, or more likely, that scene shows us that he too can be harmed.

As for him getting sliced by Hattori, the ronin, at the end. Well remember their encounter in the tavern, Hattori remembered Zatoichi's stance and visualised his move. But he made a mistake by smirking/hmphing which is why Zatoichi changed his stance.

Okay thanks for the info. It makes a lot more sense now. It would have been wierd if he could actually see . Also the whole hattori thing makes sense now. And also the rain fight sequence was a great fight. Probally one of the best from the movie. In the dvd I have they have a behind the scene thing and they talk about how different the fights are in this movie since theirs no swordclashing. Kitano wanted to make the movie more relalistic

I'm not sure what the plot could be for the sequel though, but it should still be sweet.

The Matrix Revolutions - 7.5/10

I'd only seen this one once in theatres and was extremely disappointed, but after watching it for a second time on HBO, I liked it a lot more. God, Agent Smith is so cool :)

Hey, another person who sees the truth.

Once your expectations are set, then you can sit back and see the good points of The Matrix Revolutions (and Reloaded), instead of just wanting to pull your hair out at everything it doesn't deliver on that you expected it to. Because it's a fine movie, as long as you remember it's just a sci-fi actioner.

That's exactly how I felt after seeing Reloaded and Revolutions in the theaters for the first time. Both, especially Reloaded were so hyped up I was expecting revolution all over again. But after re-watching them, I grew to love them.

I agree on Smith. He's so cool. My favourite villain.

Got to talk to the director afterwards too. Same guy that did Sleepless in Seatle and Major League, so it was cool.

I have to say I was skeptical of this movie. I figured it would just be a splatter filled gore movie, but damn that was an awesome movie. This was a great zombie movie and I hate zombie movies.
