I don't think his intention was to be mean but to get the kids to solve their own problems and to take responsibility for their own actions. The kids took it as meanness and acted accordingly. :)

Titanic - 9/10
First time i watched it since it came out, when i was young, and this was the first time i really watched it with open mind. Beautiful movie. Really sad, witha GREAT SCORE. Wonderfully directed.
I can't see why people hate this and Pearl Harbor, as there chief complait usual is the love story, BUT, if it was just action, it would get complaints that it had no story and was just action. Really, if this had no love story and was just the sinking, it would have sucked. The love story in these types of films, IMO, helps these films greatly. It puts an emotional side to it, and for all we know, something like the love story in Titanic could have occured.
GREAT FILM....

"Master and Commander"
Good performances by Crowe, Bettany and Max Pirkis playing Blakeny; and these relationships were developed well. But we barely get to know the crew(minus half a point) and they are not portrayed to be as filthy and crude as they really were(minus a whole point for not being real enough). Minus another half a point for being boring, and another half a point for not atleast developing the relationship with Tom Pullings, who becomes a captain himself at the end of the movie.
2.5 STARS(out of 5)
good movie, but kind of boring, with underdeveloped characters and relationships(outside of the captain and the doctor), and a facade of realism.

The Last Samurai 7.5\10
Really enjoyable flick. Tom Cruise is one of hollywoods most underrated actors. Overall, however, I think this movie was slightly overrated.
Kung Pow: Enter the fist 7\10
I'm kinda cooky, but I love parodies. This movie was very funny to me.
Hurricane 7\10
Very good movie, even if a little idealistic. I think that they should've gotten someone besides Denzel Washington to star in this. It seemed too much like he recurred his role in Malcolm X. Another actor would've made this movie stand on it's own.

today:

last samurai (again) 18.5/20 (great movie, holds a special place in
my heart, but still flawed slightly)
hero (again)- 19.5/20 this is the fourth time i watched this since i bought it and i still love it! has the best cast in any film ever!
i am consistantly being amazed by the great movies released in 2003. it started with lost in translation which is my fav movie of all time (i think) then last samurai (my second fav of the year) then secondhand lions (most underated movie of 2003, maybe ever) then house of sand and fog (again very pleasantly surprised, this ties with in america for my 3rd fav of 2003)

Very good, but not great. Not enough to love about the reality sequences except for the story Will tells Edward in the hospital (heh, Edward...;)) and the ending.

Son of Frankenstein- 8/10
Ghost of Frankenstein- 8/10
House of Frankenstein- 8/10
Dracula's Daughter- 6/10
Dracula- 9/10
Dracula(spanish)- 9/10
Attack of the Clones- 8.5/10
The Spanish version of Dracula had better pacing, camera angle set-ups and was technically superior to Legosi's version. Legosi was a more menacing and creepier Dracula and I prefer Dwight Frye's Renfield. All the actors in the Spanish film seemed to be too cheerfull, which threw off the film's creepy atmosphere.

Jack, how many times have you seen troy now? they must no you at the theaters. They did know me when ROTK was out, i saw it 4 times. Do you see it alone or with people? i usually on my 2,3,4 viewings can't find anyone to go with so ill go alone.

Yeah there's one guy who knows me. but we have 2 big theatres. i would also go on my own but there is always some one who wants to see the movie so i grab the chance and go see it. its always cool to see peoples reaction at theatre. my sisters loved it, saw it with my girl and mates, they all loved it. and i'll see it with another mate next week. so it will be my fifth visit. ;)
sure they all say i'm nuts but i know a lot other people that want to see it again...

Se7en Audio Commentary (Cast): 10/10
Outstanding commentary. Outstanding movie.
One of the best commentaries I've heard -- always interesting, in-depth, and best of all, New Line found a way to not annoy me with the fact that one of the people (Freeman) is not in the room with the other participants -- the editors have always chosen comments from Freeman that sync up with what Pitt and Fincher are talking about, not to mention Freeman is interesting anyway. Great, great stuff.
