As many of you knows, "Alien" will be re-released this Halloween, October 31st, 2003. I know this is a re-release but it is appropriate for the 'Coming Soon' section of the forum because, well, it's coming soon.

I also heard that this will include never before scenes. I have been waiting my whole life to see "Alien" on the big screen. However one side of me wants the public to see the extended version, the other thinks that some deleted scenes are only important to the fans

If I had my wish, now that Fox is re-releasing "Alien" this Halloween, I would want Fox to re-release "Aliens" by Christmas or Thanksgiving.

There are rumors of an "Aliens" re-release but it all depends on how "Alien" does, and if it is well, then "Aliens" might be release sometime next year, but it's all rumors.

By the way, what does "nvm" means?

Also, does anyone want to help me host my Power Point Stills "Alien" teaser trailer. It is 4.82MB and need a website.

The Great movies never get old!!! I really can't wait to see this on the big screen for the first time! The only other one I saw on the big screen was Alien Ressurection... :(

Indeed they should re-release Aliens for Christmas. It could become a Christmas Tradition. It's A Wonderful Life..... Miracle on 34th Street.... Aliens! ;)

re-release as is? or 'special edition'-ized like Star Wars?

I'll go see this. But what I really want to see re-released theatrically are all the great 3D movies of the 50s. Watching them on DVD just isn't the same.

The re-release of "Alien" is rumored to have the deleted scenes. The trailer for this one will be attached to "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" this Friday. I hope that somewhere on the net I can download it.

Do you guys think that an extended version should be release? Would an extended version hurt the result of the movie that made it one of the best sci-fi?

This is from: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3054254.stm

Scott said: "I've just been re-editing Alien for re-issue later this year.

"We are digitally expanding it. I hadn't seen it for 15 years and it is still good - the original script was extremely dynamic."

Did anyone see the trailer for this one on the Theaters yet? I went to see "The League..." and didn't see it.

I didn't see it.

Honestly the easy way to find out is just check the news, or apple.com after a movie's release. It would be in their trailers section by now if it was out.

But yeah, just check around, usually movie companies announce a trailer thats going to be attached to something. No doubt New Line and WB will announce the trailers for Return of the King and Revolutions when they release.

They didn't show the trailer at my theater either. I can't wait to hear: "In Space, no one can hear you scream" in the theater. I may have spasms.

Well it was rumored that it was going to be attached with Fox's "The League..." and nothing was there. The thing is that they are already announcing October releases trailers and this one hasn't even been out. Now that we know that the trailer has premiered in San Diego's Comic Com I can now hope it will be available soon at Apple.com or maybe in attached to the next Fox's release. I wonder if it's going to be attached to "The Order". I too was looking for the "Alien" trailer experience when I went to see the "The League..." (which by the way the movie less than average, maybe a D+, the best thing in the movie was Shawn Connery and his performance, maybe he was the reason the movie made any money probably) so I was disappointed that no "Alien" trailer was attached.

"Alien: The Director's Cut" will premier on the UK on Friday, October 24. I wonder why it will be release overseas a week before the US.

Check out: http://foxmovies.com/index1.html

"Alien" is finally listed by Fox's website. They even indeed confirmed the release date of Halloween 2003.

>>On the scariest day of the year, Twentieth Century Fox re-releases the scariest film ever made: Ridley Scott's "Director's Cut" of this science fiction / horror classic. For this newly-restored special edition, Scott has re-edited the film, incorporating new footage never before seen in theaters. ALIEN has been hailed by critics and audiences worldwide as a seminal work of the genre. <<

It'll be Halloween. I think it's a great move to re-release it that day. Everybody will be up for a good scare, and those who have never seen it, will be pleasantly suprised.

Hey, every Alien movie i've seen has been good, with the exception of 3 (Yea, i even liked resurrection). Weaver HAS shown interest in a Fifth one where she returns to the alien home planet, but it doesn't seem likely.

the original is really good - but i thought Aliens was a cooler movie. Alien was a BETTER movie.

I hope that Scott makes it even better...the deleted scenes should make it even more awesome.

At least it'll be in the theatres again.

Alien VS Predator is underway and will most likely be released the end of Summer or mid Fall of 2004.

Alien 5 is definitly going to be made, regardless of how AvP does.

Personally, as far as the rerelease goes, I hope it makes enough money that they'll do the same thing for Aliens.

Alien isn't that scary anymore, and it won't be in it's rerelease version. When it came out, it was just very original, had great make up and an original story as far as aliens go. But now its really corny, not scary, and you doubt the alien in it.

Aliens on the other hand is still a masterpeice today. And I'd really be up to seeing it in the theatre again.

Alien was a great movie, and the fact some people say that it's not as good as than Aliens is just wrong. They're both great movies, but they're completely different. Alien is a horror movie, kith and kin to movies like Halloween and The Wolfman. It just takes place in space.
Aliens is a sci-fi/action movie.
Anyway, just thought I'd get that off my chest.

Fanible

Yeah but it should be more scary, to live up to something like "The scariest movie of all time."

The problem is how the alien attacks and makes an appearance. The scene where he's trying to get away, and climbs down the ladder and flashes his flashlight behind him, and the alien is there and flings open his arms.

It looks like the alien is like "Give me a hug!" as oppose to jumping at him, as it should have.

Ditto with they had it stand up way too straight at the end when it was in full view. It literally looked more like a man in a suit than an alien, which is what Cameron wanted to make a point on in Aliens.

They are two different movies. But the second has better horror and better scares. And the aliens actually appear alien. Not an alien that chills out or gives people hugs.

The first lacks in scares because it was only scarey for it's effects, but that was for it's time. It's gore isn't that much either.
