Why on earth do they want to remake this series? It was great I dont see how it can be bettered and what you would want to change. You cant recast it or set it somewhere else. That would just be stupid.

eejits.

Because American television get a lot of their ideas from other place. And the have redone soo many British shows and comedies. Almost always with disasterous results.

Yeah, that would be a bad idea. This was a funny show, and should just be left alone.

Yeah, I think its a great show. If its remade and rebroadcast here, it'll suck. Of course, I rememer just seeing on TV an ad for an American version of coupling. And in the commercial, it was the new actors and everything, and all the gags they showed in the commercial, were some of the exact same things that were in the British show. So, apparently not only did they reuse the concept, but most of the scripts as well. Whats the damn point?

Three's Company is another show.

Anyway great UK show which I wouldn't want to see Americanized.

All I want to know is how could America remake Faulty Towers WITH OUT Bazil Faulty? He’s what made the show funny, he was the main character.

We are stupid and lazy and uncreative. The best way to make something new is to steal somthing that woks somewhere else. Of course we have no idea whay it worked so we make a piss poor reproduction of it.

Remake Father Ted? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Remake Fawlty Towers? HAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!!!!

...without Basil Fawlty? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

...and don't forget the abortive US version of Red Dwarf (see above for laughter track).

And from what I heard Men Behaving Badly was so sanatized from the UK original that it was more 'Men Behaving OK Actually' - (and I'm really not suprised that both women were cast as 'hot' )

What's really the problem with just showing the originals over there? Do they offend for some reason?

(Oh yeah, and 'Bob The Builder' is DUBBED guys - it's another UK production originally voiced over here by one of the actors from the original Men Behaving Badly)

Ive seen the american version of men behaving badly - it took me a few episodes to work out it was men behaving badly - but its ok actually. All the same jokes and dorothy is actually hot, which is a plus.

But that's just the point - Dorothy ISN'T hot - she's just normal, so's everyone else, it's not meant to be a beauty show like some bizarre version of Friends.

They should just leave Father Ted alone

They were actually considering making an American Version of Red Dwarf? Yikes. My PBS station shows these British shows Saturday and Sunday nights. The British Coupling was funny. Father Ted is funny too.

the reason they are remaking them is because most americans don't want to watch british shows, plus they think if a show is a hit oversees it will be big over hear. i think that the people at the networks need to realize americans have different kinds of tastes then other countries.

I knew that but I thought it was us that had dubbed it, the same for Tellytubbies. You are right but I didn't know till not so long ago. I don't know why they'd dub Bob The Builder he's got a good voice.

Because he seems to like bumping three year old threads and then have nothing good to add to them.
