There is a new sharp, 3-D animated Spider Man series premiering on MTV July 11th @ 10pm. I have heard very little about it, except that it exists and premieres July 11th. Does any one have any pics and additional info about this?

I'm not sure, but haven't they been talking about getting this show on the air for a year or so?
Also, wasn't Doogie Howser supposed to be voicing Peter/Spiderman?

Yes they have, and yes he is. Lisa Loeb is voicing Mary Jane, Ian Ziering is voicing Harry Osborne, and Michael Clarke Duncan is voicing Kingpin (but in the show, the Kingpin is bigger and white, like the classic Kingpin, and not the stupid one from the Daredevil movie).

I hate it when shows come on only on Fridays. It pisses me off. Fox used to do that with Fastlane. No one's ever home on a Friday night!!! Start showing repeats of the same episode on Sundays!!!

Right, FOX was dumb to put Fastlane on Fridays  but knowing how often MTV repeats their programs we can expect to see the first Spider-Man episode on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they usually air their awards show this way.

Yeah I hope so. Most of their programs are shown repeatedly.

Except Fastlane wasn't good.

A truly good show can conquer the Friday night. CSI did it's first season.

I could care less about a CSI. Fastlane IS good. It just doesn't appeal to you, that's all.

perhaps to avoid confusion with the other spider-man series we could refer to it as "spider-man cgi"

Just watched the first two episodes tonight. They repeat again Saturday night on MTV @ 9:30 and 10:00 pm.

I liked it. The very opening scene makes you feel like you're watching the crappiest cartoon ever, but then improves tremendously. I like the whole mood and feel of the new series. Every girl in the series is incredibly hot, and all the guys looks almost exactly alike, they way they're modeled. I like the voice work, and in the second episode, John C. McGinley, from Scrubs, has an interesting character. The stories were cool, and since this is an "edgier" Spider Man series, we get to here a little cursing, and that's funny and cool at the same time, plus more violence! This takes place when the gang's in college, but Peter and Harry are still roomies, and at this point, where the series begins, Norman Osborne's dead, and Harry of course still blames Spider Man...

Anyway, after the first 30 seconds, the animation's really cool, good characters (though MJ's a little cheesey and predictable), good stories for the most part, and I think MTV's done a great job and there's a lot to like and a lot to look forward to.

Oh, and the title sequence gives us a few clues to what to expect. Read ahead for minor SPOILERS...

It's in the opening, but also there's a preview for the next episode after the second one airs, so this isn't a big suprise, but Doc Conners (aka The Lizard) is in the next episode, then several other characters flash by in the into including the girl in purple you can see several posts above, J. Jonah Jameson, Kraven the Hunter, a creature resembling a werewolf, and of course, The (white version) Kingpin.

The Lizard episode is going to kick ass. Impressed with the show, wasn't a big fan of that green woman with the magic sword but they showcased how violent the show can get.

I caught the reruns on Saturday...pretty interesting. i liked their take on things. I was expecting it to be a kind of cheesy parody of some sort but it ended up to be decent and the animation was good as well.

I liked the first two eps. The cgi is definitely all it's own. Seems like it has a cell-shading thing going on, which I love.

I hear Rob Zombie is doing the voice of Curt Conners/Lizard. How cool is that?

Just got done *****ing over on the "Animation" boards how no one was talking about this. Guess I was in the wrong place. As I said over there, though, this looks like it could shape up to be the best animated series in recent history. Maybe even better than Batman. I personally have no complaints over it. Even the humor hit the marks perfectly, and I actually laughed aloud a few times (when Pete tells Harry "that was a great story. Can you tell it again?" Ha!). I'll be anxiously looking forward to each new episode.

I've only seen the episode with that Ninja Lady or whoever she was. The show was ok, but I thought Spidey looked a little too skinny in the suit... he kinda looks like a girl. Other than that I like it.

You've probably seen the Shakira video that has bits of animation, if that's the case then this series is in big trouble.
