View Full Version : the names of books 6 and 7
big_boy_01

these may be the titles for the remaining two Harry Potter adventures and a "secret" eighth book:
Harry Potter and The Pyramids of Furmat
Harry Potter and the Chariots of Light
Harry Potter and The Alchemist's Cell
a spokesman from the Christopher Little Literary Agency confirmed that the author is only planning seven books:(
Someone in America - don't know who - appears to have registered them along with Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.
(At that time, the fourth book hadn't been published and the title was still a secret).
Later in 2000, all four titles were transferred to Warner Bros - although it's not clear why this happened.
The understanding that these were the names of the new Harry Potter books took place when journalists checked what names were owned by Warner Bros.
Those journalists assumed that these must be unpublished titles.
JK Rowling has said in the past that the whole Harry Potter saga fits neatly into seven books, one for each of Harry's years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. JK Rowling and her agents have categorically denied at the moment that an eighth Harry Potter adventure is planned.
And if she ever did write an eighth book, then it wouldn't be another adventure, but a book for charity which would be the encyclopedia of the Harry Potter world.

I don't think those titles are correct. I've heard that book 6 will be called: Harry Potter and the green flame torch
I'm not sure if that's correct either, but those titles you listed sounds very unlikely.

Just a little info:
You CANNOT register (trademark) or copyright a title. So this info you have is incorrect.

Interesting. But like I said - titles in and of themselves cannot be copyrighted or trademarked. The UK is the same as the US. It is trademarked only as it pertains to goods - licensing.
IF someone were to find out what the title was, it would be perfectly legal for them to name their OWN book that title. They just couldn't use it to license merchandise.
It's even possible those were two titles to toys that were going to be produced - Alchemist's Cell would make sense - Nicholas Flamel was one. The titles were registered back in 2000, by Warner Brothers.

I'd like to see a picture with Christopher Columbus, as he apparently is on a first name basis with him (let alone Columbus isn't directing this one).

We don't know that, actually. All Dumbledore said was he had enough elixir to set his affairs in order. Who knows how many affairs he has.
Though I assume he probably IS dead by now.
Either way, who knows what an "alchemist's cell" is anyway. Could be a room, could be some contraption or something.

I don't even believe the names that the guy made up. And I think Flamel's affairs were like who the property goes to, where his money goes, and all that I'm-about-to-die stuff. So it's safe to assume that his affairs don't take 4 years to finish.

They are "Harry Potter and the Mudblood Revolt" and "Harry Potter and the Centaur's Quest." *If* they are real I don't have a problem with them. Yea I agree... I doubt she'd use that, even if that is the main content of the book. Neither sound very Harry Potterish (usually a concrete idea-like person or object- for the title) but I like the ring of the second one better.

On the other hand their post also made out Firenze to be a teacher of the Dark Arts rather than divination and until they get their facts straight, I am unwilling to take what they say very seriously...
Perhaps they have delved deeply into the crystal ball and predict a different role in the future for Firenze?..

I think the two titles are just a ruse. The news/rumor mill for HP is pretty light right now. Nothing like this to keep it in the news. If Rowling is the only one who knows the titles, like she has said, than there is no reason to worry about trademarking the titles this early.

The Simpsons are far superior to Seinfeld, IMO. What other cartoon, or any other show that has been on this long? There is a character for just about any persona you can think of. Of course there was that Halloween special where they spoofed HP, I think Homer was 3D in it too.

Holy crap, Reverend Jim!!!! :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:
Sometimes when they show funny clips, they run my fav. It's the one where Jim needs to get a drivers license. Bobby is trying to help him cheat.
Jim asks "what do you do when you come to a yellow light?"
::from across the room, Bobby replies::
"slow down"
Jim repeats the question. Slower.
:funny: :funny: :funny: :funny:
By the third time they go through the routine, I'm on the floor rolling.
IMHO, Christopher Lloyd (Rev Jim) can act circles around Michael Richards (Kramer). (but then, I'm probably one of the few people on the planet that never liked Seinfeld. I hated that show (there were a few episodes that weren't too bad). I like the actors, individually, (Jason Alexander is funny, and a pretty good singer too) but their characters were such a pain in the ass, it was like nails on a chalk board to me.)

By far his best moment in that show.
Have you ever heard the back story to that scene?
The director told them to go with it - and just keep going until it ran out of steam and the audience stopped laughing. It never did. There's one point where Tony Danza and Marilu Henner are hiding their faces - only because they are laughing.

Oh yeah - whatever you grow up with, you are biased toward.
For me, one of my absolute favorite shows is WKRP In Cincinnati (1978-1981).
But it also is disheartening sometimes. The music of my youth has been totally usurped. You know how certain songs remind you of something very specific? Well, since 80s music has been played so much recently, a lot of songs no longer have much meaning to me. Just makes me sad. Luckily, there are some songs that haven't gotten rediscovered, so they mean all the more to me.

OK, taking HP still further off topic,(so far in fact, that it will take a taxi, two bus transfers and a good long walk to bring it back on track) I'll add this:
I'll probably seal my place in geekland, but I have to admit, one of my fav shows was "The Facts of Life." I wanted to go to boarding school so bad, I could taste it! ;)
And it cracks me up when I hear the teenage kids of friends of mine go on and on about the b**chen tunes they just discovered. (snicker) Like from Oingo Boingo or the Clash. ;)
And did you hear what Brittney Spears said about her cover song of "I love rock N roll"?? She said something about how she'd always been a big fan of Madonna's. (grin) uhmmm... that song was done by Joan Jett and the Black Hearts. :) and there were legions of Brittney fans that thought SHE wrote that song?!! wow.

Yeah it makes me think of when Whitney Huston (alledgedly, might be urban legend) called Dolly Parton up and asked her what the hell she was doing singing her song - "I will always love you"...This was when Bodyguard first came out... Whitney's always been a bit of a diva of course, but she might have taken the time to check who actually wrote the song she was preforming.. in this case...you've guessed it...

And oh, btw Moby..I still love the 80's...I grew up with that music and it will always be special to me.. Heh so many memories:)
I can't say that I have been hearing the songs a lot lately on the radio etc... but then I never listen to the radio... only the music I mix for myself... anyhoo..
Something I find kind of funny is how I listened to remakes of songs in the 80's like Venus - Bananarama, stuff like that... and never having heard the original I prefered the remake when I finally heard the original... but now when I hear the remakes of 80's songs for instance, it often makes me cringe... Funny how you age in that way...the older you get, the more you want things your way...

Oh and since I grewup in Sweden... I had a rather limited amount of sitcoms to watch... but even having seen Seinfield, I can't say I care for it much... I find the characters petty and annoying, and not very engaging..
I am however a long time fan of the Simpsons...
But I grew up in the 80's with excellent shows like Boomer, Punky Brewster and Alf... no wonder I am weird... Fraggle Rock anyone?

Ouch... It saddens my music loving heart... Beatles is one of the few groups where the remake never seemed to outdo the original for me.. and Paul McCartney by extension is pretty much the same..
I remember not being to fond of (once again) Bananrama remaking Help!.. But it seriously got me listening to the Beatles in the 8th grade so I guess I should be thankful for the music education that was provided for me there... A piece of pure music history:)

Yes, certainly I wouldn't expect you to know better than that, now would I? But you must understand that this is the kind of attitude that gets Americans labelled as ignorant, loud mouthed douche nozzles when they go abroad.. Besides which non of the girls on the so called Swedish bikini team are actually Swedish,.. I think the double standards towards sex in this great country has a lot to do with why it was named that way :p

Also, your display of typical male chauvinist attitudes aren't likely to score a lot of points with thinking individuals..Just thought you ought to know :P

Your post made me smile. Here's the thing, hkp ISN'T AMERICAN. :)
He's from India (right hpk?) , he's 14yrs. old, and he's made it ABUNDANTLY clear that he will never go for American citizenship (even though he's happy to use our services and schools and other resources) because that could hurt his chances for political office in his home country.
(sorry to butt in here, but we *true* Americans seem to step in it enough, all on our own, to be blamed for stupid remarks made by foreigners.) ;)

That's true. I don't plan on getting citizenship, but here to enjoy the democracy, well, until the recall, is. In fact, a correct term for me would be a mucher. And I can't run for office, but I could always be one of those people on Hannity & Colmes shouting ideas at Hannity for being an idiot and proclaiming Bush as the savior, and always resorting to poll numbers which vary for each channel, so no credit. That would be great. :) Tis my dream.

Ahh to be a moocher from another country here in America, must be nice. I love hearing about how the world in general feels about us Americans. Willowisp what thinking individuals would be unhappy with his attitudes, I am curious to know.

Umm.. I was refering to the bikini babe comment.. I am strictly against objectifying anyone.. I don't think that if you are a thinking individual, you will putn one sex before the other, or find the objectification of females (or males for that matter) very appealing.. of course maybe that's just me.. Maybe that is an okay thing to do? :)
