I really like Dean Koontz - he gets into the villains so well and makes them deliciously evil - they have so much fun being evil its funny.
I would highly recommend
The Face and Life Expectancy and Dragon Tears the one I am listening to now - especially if you like to listen to books on CD or Tape.
I download them at http://www.simplyaudiobooks.com/

I just finished "Feeding The Monster" (for all you Red Sox fans out there...). Very good book. I liked it better than "Faithful". "Faithful wasn't bad, I just didn't like the format so much.
I'm now starting to read "Ball Four" for the first time. I've heard alot of good things about it. I'm looking forward to getting into it.
Also, I just got the Baseball America Prospect Handbook 2008 and Baseball Prospectus 2008 in, so I'll take a look through those.

I agree with you there, i got like 200-300 pages in i think and just had to stop i thought it was pretty poor and very dull. The whole Tom Bombadil thing was annoying, masterstroke leaving that out of the film. I really wanted to like the book but just couldn't

I just finished Beyond the Body Farm
Interesting book about forensic pathology but it had one chapter that was kinda sickening to listen to.
It was about an investigation of a Texas worm farm - apparently the family had a lucrative but illegal side business going. They used their barn to make illegal fireworks - especialy M-80s (which are equal to a quarter stick of dynamite.)
Unfortunately, one of the workers decided to use an electric drill to stir a slurry of explosive mixture and blew the barn to kingdom come.
Only one person out of 11 survived - and the person who set off the spark with the drill ended up 100 yards away from the site - his intestine snagged a twig as it flew by some brush and spooled out about 20 feet until he reached the end of his tether and suddenly stopped flying.
I know, thanks for sharing *snicker* that's not even the worst description of victims - just the most interesting.
They spent two days matching up body parts of all 11 of them and still were missing some - not much, but some. Fleshy bits next to that big an explosion have a tendency to vaporize
