Havent seen matrix yet, its not out in uk so i cant vote just say that matrix will have to really impress me to beat my opinion of X2.

I agree with Blake that both movies are awesome, but if I have to choose then I'll go with Reloaded, cause there were some scenes that blew me away.
But I also have to say that X2 had the most satisfying ending.
Overall, both film did it for me, I like the feel of both movies.

I don't know about that...Reloaded is only half of the story.. We'll see when Revolutions comes out which story ends up better.. but as far as action, its obvious.

both movies were great and I luv x-men but i like sequels that you need to see the first one's in order to understand what's going on now and reloaded did it for me especially the end many possiblities how it played out..

some post against the Matrix maybe they didn't undestand the story quite well. There were parts you needed to hear again to catch on but overall strong storyline so far..

For me I liked the Matrix more just because I still don't know everything that is going on. I've been reading comics for years now. (27 yrs old) X-men has always been one of my favorite comic book because of the diverse cast.

I enjoyed X2, but it still doesn't compare to the comics. Iceman never iced up, he could have stopped the damn from popping like a zit, where did Colossus take the kids, what the hell exactly happened to Stryker's son to make him like that? I never read the God Loves, Man Kills story so I'm not totally updated. These comparison's come only because I'm pretty familiar with these characters and what they can do. There's more but I just can't think of it all off the top of my head.

Whereas the Matrix, I went into it know only what the first film told us. I had no depth in history so I can't say what can and can't happen.

In the end, both movies are good but entirely different. X2 delt with rights of people, mutants, sexes...whatever. Matrix deals with philosophical choices and what they lead to if they even lead to anything. Do we have choice? etc.

So I chose the Matrix pill over the X2 pill. What will happen now?

I liked X2 a lot and it would've been my favorite movie of the summer if not for the sequel to my favorite movie of all time. The Matrix Reloaded kicked X2's a$$. I never found it boring because I was drawn to all the philosophical references and smart dialogue between the action scenes. I also loved how this movie was about the choices and I felt this was a lot darker than the 1st Matrix since all Hell breaks loose near the end so you have no idea what's gonna happen next. I loved every minute of it. I also think the "orgasm" scene was definitely neccessary for the story, btw. You just have to think about how it relates to something that happened earlier in the movie....

The Matrix Reloaded was of course better than X2. Not only did Reloaded's action sequences blow X2 clean out of the water, but the story was infinitely better. The main reason some people don't like it is becuase they weren't paying attention to it and they clearly don't understand the story. If you don't get the "jist" of it then you can't even begin to understand what Neo is told in the last 10 minutes of the film, and what happens in the cliff-hanger ending.

X2 is just your typical dumbed-down action flick. The effects were nice, especially Night-crawler but in the end the story was very uninspiring. I mean, I don't think a single audience-member seriously believed that that machine was going to kill either all the humans or all the mutants... so there was absolutely no suspense. Although I do amit the final shot of Jean was incredible. Nevertheless one shot does not forgive the preceeding two hours of pure boredom.

Based on the box office over the last couple of weeks, the rest of America agrees with you..... or are they just seeing it multiple times to try to figure out the utterly convoluted and irritating "plot"..... Don't get me wrong, I liked it overall. But the directors seriously jerked my chain.

Well even if some people wern't confused by it, some people are disappointed just from all the hype of the first one.

And as for liking X2 better, ive had people that understand Reloaded (or atleast what any of us can at this point) and they still like X2 better.

It just depends on your style of movie. X2 had tons of action, lots of characters you thought were cool and liked. An extreme variety. And yet again more action.

I don't know! I have seen both of them but i can't really decide. If the question was X-men Vs Matrix, the first one, then Matrix wins for sure. However, Matrix Reloaded isn't THAT good so i think that i like both of them the same. Matrix was pure action, at least at the beginning but X-men 2 had a good plot and it revealed many things about Wolverine. I can't really say...

Maybe I wasn't as good of a Matrix fan as I thought I was but it was kinda lame. The special effects where to boring and not done well at all although you really can't make a judgement about the movie till you have seen all three of them and then put the whole story together. I just hope the third pulls this movie up off the floor and makes it stronger.

Fight scenes don't get much better either... maybe Black Mask or Fist of Legend... Both Jet Li flicks... both choreographed by Yuen Wo Ping (who also does the Matrix films aswell, so its no surprise)

The plot, while it is a small of a bigger story alltogether, was just lacking so much more then the first. In this movie it really didn't make you care about anything that was happening. What in this storline actually pulled you into the movie and made you give a dame about anything or anybody? That was a big let down for me. As for graphics, I have seen worse in other movies that I wont go into naming at the moment but the special effects in this movie were over used and .....well... not that special.

My vote goes to X2.

You know i went to see the matrix reloaded and i left with a feeling of dissatisfaction. To me it felt like the wachowskis said lets continue our story throw in more action, and special effects and theyll love it. Now im not saying MR was bad. Not at all.

I get so annoyed when i see posts of people saying MR sucks. It doesnt suck. They tried really hard to make a good movie with great effects thats entertaining and so forth. Killer Clowns from outer space sucks...

Anyhoo X2 just had alot more bang for its buck. The matrix was ALOT of blah blah blah blah just to say Blah... They could have done without certain things and should have have added some elements of the first film that made it so interesting such as agent chase scenes and a crew for the ship that you cared about.

I know there were ALOT of matrix fans that squirmed in thier seat at the first fight between Neo and the three agents in the begining of the film and wondered to themselves, is this gonna be a cheesy movie? That was a pretty lame scene. X2 started great and just got better. I left wanting to see it again... with MR i left saying "that was cool..."

Matrix's special effects.... Do you really think they were that special? The first Matrix's special effects blew this one out of the water. It was original and something we have never scene before, this new one, they over used them and it became irritating to watch.

The first Matrix ruled though and I'm really waiting to see the third, I just hope the third is not just a rehash of the second.

I consider the star wars sagas as 2 sets of fans, so that dont count to me. Im only saying that shes apparantly a huge fan and yet doesnt get the basic idea of reloaded which is choices, and the 2nd which is amazing unmatched CGI.

It wasn't the story line that got me down if anything I'm happy that they are finally making movies that actually make people think. Thats a great thing. Reloaded just didn't appeal to me as much as the first, I'm sorry if I have a different way of thinking then the rest of you. I'm really looking forward to the third movie and I hope it appeals to me more then the second. I just thought the effects were over used in this one and they didn't seam as good as the first for me. To much of a good thing is bad!

To me the second Matrix movie was a lot like Star Wars, The Phantom Menece. While Reloaded had a hell of a lot better story behind it, 'unfortunatley, me being a huge Star Wars fan', They just threw in to many effects that really killed the movie for me. A lot of it looked really fake and I really hate when movies have effects like that. It takes me right out of the Matrix world and makes me think...it's only a movie. :(

I am really happy for those of you that enjoyed the effects and the movie, I wish I could have been one of you.

While X-men 2 had it's problems in some areas it just was a better movie for me, effects wise and story wise.

i just sat here with a bunch of my friends and tried to analyze the matirx 2.... we feel that all it was is a way to make money. the matrix really could have been told in 2 parts... i am currently writting a movie that i fell REALLY has to be told in 3 parts because if it is told in1 or 2 it will feel like it is TOO MUCH for one movie > the matrix reloaded really didnt accomplish much, STORY WISE.... all it did was introduce new characters that will play a major part in the third one (like niobe) and that really isnt fair. When i become a director (and mark my words I WILL) i wont make UNECESSARY movies as MR was... ill tell my stories as i feel they should be told and thats it. I cannot believe that anyone here can say that X2 was better than reloaded.

There're some very wierd people out there with no proper taste in films at all.

X2 had no decent story-line...the jokes were not funny...the action scenes were mediocre...the special effects were not 'special'...and the films were made with no proper love of the comic itself (another example of hollywood going for broke e.g. spider-man and daredevil).

The Wich. bro's have yet again set the bar for sci-fi/action films.

They have to have bullet time man, its The Matrix! :cool: .. The way I see it with all the CG is that they are in a computer generated dreamworld when most of the action is taking place so why wouldn't it look a bit cartoonish at times.. like the Burly Brawl.. you can tell when its CG but it still looks cool..... atleast IMO... Same with the truck crash... pure CG.. still looked cool.

Well i think the movie going public is siding with me on this one as well as the poll on this thread. The MR dropped to number 2 and was replaced by Bruce Almighty.

Yes Jim Carrey has box office power but for a comedy to box out the "movie everyone has been waiting for" after just one week proves one thing.

Word of mouth decided MR fate for week 2 at the box office.

Now in response to what was said about my post. I didnt say the Matrix was bad. I actually said it was a good movie that was worked on extremely hard. BUT the movie didnt really take a giant leap story wise. There was alot of filler scenes in between your special effects and fight sequences.

A good movie should make me rant more about the movie itself, not just the special effects as many on this forum are doing. X2 kept me entertained even when wolverine wasnt slashing or storm storming or whatever... the matrix had me lookin at my watch a couple of times...

If u go with the right group of friends, u will be talking about it for hours afterwards me and 8 friends went and we were talking about it like i said for hours after, much more than X2, after it we were like, "So Magneto Betrayed them...no shock there"
we talked a little about the phoenix but realised theres no point as we have to wait a few years for a sequel, instead of 6 months like with Reloaded-Revolutions.

True, but in my opinion, it's too convoluted. I just think it's better to give the viewer some idea of what's going on, just a tidbit would be great.
