Do you guys think it will come out when Revolutions hits theatres, or will they release as a 2 pack dvd set with Reloaded and Revolutions next year????? I hope they release it when Part 3 hits theatres.

I'm hoping they release it right before Revolutions hits theaters. It would be the perfect time to release it.

Just in time for my birthday. I hope this is accurate.
I like the matrix, but I don't even have the first movie on DVD. I'm not going to bother buying any of the movies on DVD, because I know they're going to end up releasing a huge box set. I bet the box set will include the movies plus the animatrix, and even extras that aren't in the other DVD releases. good things come to those who wait.

Warner Home Video have announced the DVD release of The Matrix Reloaded, the sequel to 2000's Oscar-winner, for October 3rd. This announcement of course comes before the film even hits cinemas! No word on disc specs yet, but expect a good serving, although an audio commentary from the Wachowskis looks unlikely.

» THE MATRIX RELOADED
So how's this for being early: word has it that Warner Home Video has earmarked October 3rd for The Matrix Reloaded DVD release... this still a week before the film even hits theaters! If so, then this would be one of those special "Friday releases" that'll generate huge weekend sales numbers. No word on disc specs yet, and I wouldn't expect any for some time.

I like the first cover on the page. And the cover kinda matters. When it looks cool, more people tend to buy it, even if they never liked it in the first place. Like Austin Power: International Man of Mystery got little at the box office but got tons off VHS/DVD sales.

we already know that it will come out the 14th. I just want to know if the featurette which talks about the game will show the 1 hour movie footage that was shown on the game
jediknight
08-19-2003, 03:20 PM
I believe its just a "making of the game" kind of thing. If people could see the 1 hour worth of movie footage from the game on a 20 dvd, why would they play a crappy 50 dollar game?!?
Baadshah
08-19-2003, 03:59 PM
maybe not see the 1 hour footage, just discuss what happened in the footage.
jediknight
08-19-2003, 04:03 PM
Yeah, i've seen some making of stuff where it shows jada pinkett talking about how they shot this extra footage and how it was going to be in a videogame, not the movie, and she couldn't even believe they were waisting time and money on a videogame. I didn't see the footage on the videogame, but I might be missing something. Hopefully, thats on the dvd.

I am. But still, don't you think that this DVD is very minimal on the features department?? For a movie like this to have a DVD that sounds like it has nothing, is very bad for me, I was hoping for something more.
But, I don't have the DVD yet, I haven't seen the A/V presentation, I haven't watched the special features. So maybe I should just wait for it all on this DVD (because this is the version i'm going to buy). Who knows, maybe it all might be good. :)

I planned on buying the DVD first thing, but when I saw those features, I decided not to. I couldn't believe that they were giving so little and then it hit me. They have to be saving some features for when they release all three movies in a special set. THAT is what I am going to buy. Not Reloaded alone. I can wait. I have the willpower. I think . . .

"For starters, there is no commentary track at all. The Wachowski brothers actually have a clause in their contracts with the studio that they don't do interviews, so they sure aren't going to do a commentary track. Unfortunately, no one, not even their spokesman producer Joel Silver, spoke up. "

I was pretty disappointed, i loved the reloaded trailers...They could have tagged the Revolutions trailer into the special features, but we have to sit through the credits to see it (unless there is a quick way i dont know about)...I would have also liked to see the P.O.D song "Sleeping Awake" in the features somewhere.

The Matrix Reloaded was one of the best trailers of the year. It's a shame the DVD won't have it. The tv spots were great too.
Baadshah
10-12-2003, 11:01 AM
i don't really care about the trailers or the tv spots, has long has there is enough documentaries. Plus, there should be the trailer on the DVD-Rom on the DVD. I'm planning on getting Matrix Revisited at the same time as Reloaded, so i was just wondering if it's a good idea. I don't to but Matrix Revisited if they are planning on bringing out a better version of THE Matrix. There were some features on the supposed Matrix Special Edtion, but will it come out later?
droidguy1119
10-12-2003, 01:01 PM
The Matrix: Special Edition, at least in its previously announced form, is completely dead.
It's possible, of course, that in the future, they'll do a new Special Edition, but I really sort of wonder about that -- it seems like the concept behind Revisited was always that since the Matrix DVD has sold so many copies, it would make too many people mad to make a new DVD, and thus, they released Revisited as a stand-alone product.
At least, that makes sense to me. Maybe I'm wrong. I loved Revisited though. I don't think they're going to redo it, I haven't heard any plans like that. The only time I ever heard of it was a) in conjunction with the canceled Matrix SE, and b) even before that, when there was a slim chance Warner would simply repress it with the Terminator 3 trailer.

Also, if anyone's wondering, buy MxR anywhere, the bonus DVD is full of nothing.
-What is Bullet Time?
-The Second Renaissance Part I
-The Making of the Animatrix

I pre-ordered mine online a long time ago for $13.50 + shipping and handling (which was reduced, so it was $1.00). And, to my happiness, it arrived today, which was a surprise.
Anyway, the DVD is okay. The special features are interesting, but not interesting enough -- Preload is way too short, and most of it is just promotional fluff.
Hopefully there's a "Revisited"-esque doc in the future for "Reloaded" -- while I'll feel ripped off by having to cough up more dough, at least I'd get to see the stuff I wanted to see.
I guess it's not a big deal -- "The Matrix" DVD was the same way. "Reloaded" really loses the points for not having a commentary, even if was Staenberg and Gaeta again...that's better than nothing.
I dunno why the Wachowskis don't do a commentary. They did one for the "Bound" disc.

I got mine at best buy, glad I picked it up even if they are coming out with an Ultimate edition.

what Ultimate Edition? Gosh people, there will never be an ultimate edition. If the industry are smart enough, they would release something like Matrix Revisited

There will surely be a better edition. I rented Reloaded last night and it's an OK DVD, but doesn't live up to the film. There's bound to be a Reloaded/Revolutions double-pack when the time comes. I'm not saying there'll be a commentary, but surely something less bitty than what's on there now. A Revisited-standard DVD is what's required.
It's worth seeing just for the MTV awards skit though.
Also, I couldn't find any easter eggs after trying a bit of button-pressing.

what i see in the near future is another Matrix Revisted DVD containing Revolutions and Reloaded. Maybe even a Matrix Revisted 2 and 3. But that will of coarse come out in a way where you can buy them seperately. So in other words, there will be a new special features dvd that will be on sale that will contain Reloaded features documentary. So, they won't release a better version of the Matrix Reloaded
