View Full Version : The Simpsons Movie

Every now and then I hear something about a Simpsons movie. But recently I heard a little more. Someone from the Simpsons said that the shows recently have had to get a little wilder to keep it fresh. And when the Simpsons start to go into space, or drill to the center of the Earth, that is when the Simpsons will be taken off and they will do a movie.

When they say "keep it fresh" I see that as making things rediculous and not funny. So in other words, they want to make a movie after the show has been canceled from not being funny or making sense any more. Doesn't it seem like that will mean the Simpsons movie will be a piece of crap!? I say the should have made a Simpsons movie in like 1995, if they made it now, it wouldn't be that great, and it DEFINITELY won't be any good after the show has been taken off the air!

Now I wish there could be a good Simpsons movie, I would love to see it. I know some people believe the show is as good as it always was, but I don't, and I'm just not very optimistic about the movie!

I'm just glad they're going with animated! They were toying with the idea of live action but scrapped it.

Ha ha. Live action would be terrible...although it would be fun to list ideas for cast members!

Chris Farley could've been a good Homer.

If your implying that the Simpsons live in Illinois it hasn't been proven yet.

im sure they can find a good plot for a simpsons movie.

but a live action movie couldnt work. no one that has been listed up there would be right for any of the parts. this is a cartoon i actually care about, unlike some of the other toons to go to live action.

and out of those, the flintstones was the only well cast movie. and of course the second one was cast horribly.

I agree, live action would be a horrible idea!

And Superman is right, it has never been told where Springfield is, here's my theory on that:

I think when they first created the cartoon series, they didn't even have a state in mind, they just picked a common city name. But then people started to wonder where this was, so they had fun with it and have teased us with it ever since. So don't expect to ever find out where they live. http://www.comingsoon.net/ubb/wink.gif

Even if they did name a state, it would be a bad idea because there would be a contradiction in some of the episodes for any state they choose.

Superman

Uh oh, I saw my post was edited. What happened now?

Anyways they've teased the idea of where this is because on one hand it seems like Illinois, but then you have the mayor who resembles the Kennedy's in the way he speaks. The Kennedy's are from Mass. and have that sort of accent. And then there was the episode years ago when Homer was helping Bart in his scout thing and he was with Flander's and his son in the same raft and they drifted out to the ocean.

Not too many ocean's around Illinois last time I checked, but at the same time there is stuff that makes you think it could be either state.

springfield isnt even springfield anymore. as most of you will recall, springfield moved when homer started selling springfield as a landfill for other, larger cities.

Almost every episode contradicts with another.

How many times have we seen the last day or first day of school? Or summer vacations? Same grade, same teacher.

Yet Homer ages while the rest don't?

How many times has Homer been fired? Or quit?

What i can't wait for is for those morons who aren't watching Futurama, finally see the show and see what they missed for a couple of years. Once The Simpsons are non-profitable (remember what Troy said) and gone Futurama will fill the space and some will watch and enjoy. Then Futurama will be in sydication, on ten times a day and everyone will enjoy.

I used to watch "Buffy" but then stopped. I just didn't care anymore. If I did I would watch "Angel". Its on Space on Thursdays and thats the night of great television, also. Survivor, Whose Line, NHL Playoffs, Smackdown!, old SNLs, CSI, or whatever else is on.

Plus the internet.
Why do you not watch "Futurama"?

Extreme lack of time. I watched a handful of episodes when I could and they were funny, one that I remember was a Titanic spoof.
I'm a big fan of the Simpsons, but I'm never home to watch it so I record that along with Angel, Buffy and so on. Even when I do tape it I still don't get around to watching it, the only two shows I can't miss are Angel and Buffy.

Is your computer in the same room as your VCR/TV? Put it on when you're on the internet. I usually have the two going on at the same time.

This is probably bulls*it, but I read in the newspaper that the plot will be around Bart losing virginity to an older woman...

I hate it...it`s not a good idea and I don`t know how good it is to have a 10 year old lose virginity...frankly I don`t believe it`s correct (Serbian papers print a lot of s*it) but it`s a fun idea to push around.

Family Guy just started production on 5 new episodes, they will most likely be on Fox, but if they dont buy then cartoon network is gonna air them. Also the creator of Family Guy has a new show coming to Fox called American Dad, where an uber conservative right wing Dad lives with his uber liberal left wing daughter. Also the dad works for the CIA and harbors aliens in their home. Space aliens not people from over seas. Sounds good to me.
