View Full Version : Future Bond Titles

any ideas on what the next bond movie should be called? I would like to see another 1 word title. we've had the past 3 bond movies be clever phrases, so a return to 1 word would be nice.
I've only been able to come up with Vesper and Drumfire .
a few others that other people have suggested:
Shamelady ( :) )
Shatterhand ( )
Dynamo (:( )
Juggarnaut (:( )
so, can anyone come up with some more?

Perhaps "Agent Under Nightfire" or one that I feel could be even better than "Die Another Day", "007 Racing: THE MOVIE".

I interrupt this thread to bring to you a SPECIAL NEWS BULLITEN
Speaking of those initials, I went and rented The Bourne Identity last night and took it to my Dad's house to watch it with him. I heard it was pretty good, but I thought it was real good, it was one of those 'whoa' movies. Matt Damon was awesome in it. Great flick!
And now back to your regularly scheduled topic of thread. No, thread of topic. No, wait...

All of those are very good, and might I add, hilarious, titles. I thought the one with the meat loaf was especailly comedic. I also like the idea of starting the title of every Bond movie from now on with the words, James Bond:, just in case people don't already know it's a Bond movie. That way all confusion could be taken care of. This Devil is on the ball here.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but many of those titles I (and other Bond fans) have been throwing around for years now.
First of all, you can forget about titles from Bond Books. They'll never use them (remove 'Property of a Lady', 'High Time to Kill', 'Icebreaker', 'Zero Minus Ten', 'Doubleshot' & 'The Man With the Red Tattoo')
Second of all, due to legal issues, EON won't be able to use titles already used for other movies (remove 'For Queen and Country' & 'Silver shadow')
Third of all, EON is not going to use titles that sounds like previous ones or were used in the context of the story (remove 'Death to Spies', 'Tomorrow Never Lies' & 'You Only Die Once')
This leaves us with 'By Respect of the Crown' and 'Death From Behind'. Two acceptable titles, although I do prefer the former.
Here is my top five potential title choices:
1. Shatterhand
Blofeld's alias in 'You Only Live Twice'. A great short title. Nice ring to it. Very old school. And of course an homage to Fleming. Has never been used before.
2. A Means to an End
Or An End to the Means if you like. Very Fleming-esque but has never been used before. Could be a great title for a 'For Your Eyes Only' type of Bond film. Back to basics.
3. Shamelady
Fleming's original suggestion for 'GoldenEye' (his Jamaican retreat). Again an old school short title. Very much like say 'Octopussy'. With the right story, this would be one cracker of a title.
4. Enjoy it While It Lasts
The very words Bond lives by (according to 'GoldenEye'). If you gotta have a longer title, please use one without 'Die', 'Dies', 'Kill' or 'Only' it it. A perfect Bond title I think.
5. Only Time Will Kill
Fleming-esque and has never been used before. Perhaps not original, but it does work.
I'm starting to like 'The Sun Never Sets', 'All To Play For' and I remember liking 'A Whisper of Love'/ 'A Whisper of Hate', 'Death Leaves an Echo' & 'Better Things Than Dying'. Too bad 'Death for Breakfast' was used in 'DAD'. 'My Enemy's Enemy', 'The Undertaker's Wind' and 'A Cold Day in Hell' are not too bad. I also like these Fleming chaptertitles for future Bond films; 'Death is So Permanent' (from Diamonds Are Forever), 'The Finger on the Trigger' (from Dr. No), 'The Richest Man in History' (from Goldfinger), 'The Clash of Guns' & 'The Writing on My Heart' (both from The Spy Who Loved Me) and from You Only Live Twice; 'Slay It With Flowers', 'The Death Collector' & 'Blood and Thunder'. When I was a kid I loved the title 'Ladykiller'. It will all depends on the story. I'd have loved to see the list Purvis and Wade had of potential 'Bond 20' titles. I really hope the next title will be a cool short title like 'Goldfinger' or 'Thunderball'. 'Crashdive' still gets my vote.
JBond
