IMO, if you ever find yourself stranded between The Sims and Ultima Online, get the latter... That is if you wont mind customizing your house while keeping an eye out.

It's really hard to explain an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) to someone who doesn't know what they are. So, check out the site (http://www.uo.com).

Its not that hard...

Ultima Online is a game in which you control a character in a medieval environment. Its all from a 2D (or 3D) bird's view of your character. You can make a living from virtually anything you want as long as there is a demand for it, the most obvious one being killing monsters. You can buy a house, and set up shop, or simply buy a boat and explore the wider world. The entire game universe is comprised of three worlds, each being quite expansive which lots of cities and open space to roam about. You can live out your fantasy, be it as a bounty hunter, a medieval Indiana Jones, a paladin, a necromancer, a wandering bard, an animal tamer, etc...

Ok... it is actually hard to explain, so I'll just leave screenshots to explain what I can't.

Wow, those are some hella cool screen shots! Have you checked out UXO yet? Ultima X? Its another in the series which is more closely-related to the true path of the Ultima experience. But man the graphics are seriously hard core and I must say that UXOO (http://www.uxoo.com) and UXO on Stratics (http://uxo.stratics.com) are the Ultimate X place to check out what the next big thing is.

I am pretty psyched myself. Have you heard of it? You psyched?

Actually, no.

UOX or UXO (whatever its called) won't have the number one favorite feature of mine in Ultima Online.

Sailing.

I mean, what was better in UO than just sailing around exploring? That really did it for me :)

I might check it out, but more than likely I'll convert to that 3D Everquest game since its very similar to what UXO will have, except that it offers sailing! And that means ALOT! I mean this coming from a die-hard UO fan that avoided Everquest like the plague... until now :O

Wow, isn't that interesting!? Do you mean that UO doesn't have sailing anymore? Are you saying that you're not sailing around currently in UO?

Well, how do you know that EQ2 will have sailing? Are you sure? Well, anyway, I am pretty interested in the quest and so I am pretty psyched about the way the new upcoming UXO will work out.

I am pretty psyched by the way the graphics engine and game-playing engine of UXO plans to come out, but I guess you're right --

I sailed from Acapulco to LA and I must say that sailing around is more what people WANT to do than actually do -- so if you find even part of the joy in your UO sailing as I did in mine (in a 42-foot cat) then good on you!

I'm thinking of returning to Ultima Online after being horribly disenchanted with Star Wars Galaxies... six months, what a bloody waste of time that could have been better spent wandering Britannia... Britannia, I'm coming home!

Well, because of you awful people, I am not up to my arse in Ultima Online. I was hoping that I would be able to wait out until UXO beta which is upcoming, but now I am Alborn in Atlantic Shard and I am hanging quite a lot in Britain. And it happend like this: I was checking out UXO, so I checked out UO and so I saw a free 15-day UO and trial download and did it and now its been over a month and I am loving it! Egad, I am such a freak! And I guess if I play my cards right I can do some sailing as well...
