New Question -

Have u given into the low carb, low fat craze?

Heh heh, to be quite frank, I really don't give a damn what I eat... I am so damn thin (hence the CS name), It's like, I can't seem to gain anything from whatever I eat whether it may be a steak or some ribs or whatnot... Here's an FYI that will reinforce my point:

I haven't checked my weight for the longest time (why should I?), I just checked my weight a few nights ago, and from the LAST time I checked my weight, I DROPPED 5 FRIGGIN POUNDS!!! How do I do that!? I've been pigging out alot at times at the dinner table, and my body has the audacity to drop 5 pounds!? I have no friggin clue how that happened... now with that being said, I could be unhealthy internally (arteries clogging and stuff), but I exercise pretty good (just walking around campus to my classes is a good exercise in itself already)... I take it from others that this whole "high metabolism" thing is nothing short of a gift from God... And the amazing part is, I just turned 19 and I can officially say that I'm still growing... with that being said, i don't think im gonna gain any significant weight anytime soon... Oh well, I better enjoy it while I can...

I've been on Atkins for well over 2 years and there have been times that I just ate a bunch of carbs and went back on it. I've lost over a 100 pounds and have stayed steady ever since. I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and eat low carb breads now. I still get carbs, just not what the food pyramid recommends. The only problems I have are I'm very forgetful with things, but then again I've always been. And when I gorge on carbs for a day, I get mild headaches and feel run down after the carb withdraw.

No diet is perfect, people should jut do what makes them happy and not put down others diets

New Question -

whats the best road trip you've been on?
when I was in my fourth year of college, my roommate and I decided we really missed this friend of ours who had moved to Kansas. We heard that she was having a hard time and we really just wanted to go see her. So we piled into my Honda Prelude with another friend of ours and drove there on a Friday night, came back on a Sunday - it was like a 13 hour drive each way. We stopped on the way back and played around in downtown St. Louis, but the best part wasn't the location, it was just seeing her and being spontaneous.

probably going camping for a week. we had to paddle 4 kilometers across a lake and walk 20 kilometers to get to the camp site. then through the week we got up at 5am every morning and ran/walked 4 k's. Then we climbed 2 mountains and then trekked back the way we came. ****en camping.

When we came back we had one day left before we went back to school. So our instructor made us do either orienteering (who the **** would want to walk/run after this?) or go on an obstacle course. we told him we wanted to do orienteering but we went down the road to the local resteraunt and had the best lunch of our life. no one actually won the orienteering competition cause no one bothered. it was great.

thats probably been the biggest physical challenge for me. that camp was not a school camp, it felt like an army orientation course.

I used to go hiking a lot in high school, every 2 weeks. Once we went hiking at night in the Mecsek, Hungarian mountain (not too high). 40 kms (25 miles) and it was raining all night. It was very difficult but we pulled it off.

The most difficult physical thing -
Swimming a mile in the ocean against a heavy current without a life jacket and with swim fins that didn't fit right. I was thoroughly exhausted by the end of it and there were a few times I thought I might drown.

The most difficult things emotionally -
Going through a very messy, long, drawn-out, painful break up with someone I loved.

Being without a job and then in a job without much security for the better part of a year and a half.

learning to be a white-water rafting guide for me - which was even more difficult emotionally than physically. Wrapping my brain around what to do with the boat was pretty hard, and putting myself into physical danger was hard, but the hardest was the stress from knowing that people could (and did sometimes) get hurt from my choices as a guide. THat and the ribbing from senior guides - kind of like the army without showers and haircuts. :)
But I loved it and still do.

Not well....or, actually, mom didn't take it well. Dad told me that he didn't care if I brought home a man or a woman as long as they treated me right. Mom, on the other, cried and told me that it was a choice.

Then she tried to convince dad that I needed to be committed to a mental hospital. So, although mom and I are okay now...it was a while before I could trust her again.

Hm, a difficult physical action. We had a segment in high school gym called Project Adventure. It's supposed to build team skills and confidence. We did things like build human towers to reach the top of a pole, figure out how to get people across ditches with only a certain number of tries, go on a blindfolded walk, etc. Two of the most difficult things were the trust fall and the tunnel. In the first one, we had to fall backwards off a bleacher and hope that your classmates were lined up to catch you. The feeling of falling backwards is NOT something I enjoy. In the tunnel, we basically crawled single file through a cement sewer-type pipe underground on hands and knees. It was very claustrophobic and pitch black. The second segment of the tunnel was extremely small and I’m a tall person - I went through that on knees and elbows with my back scraping the top. It felt like we were in there forever - I was very glad to see daylight again.

i kinda had an experience like that. it was one of the funniest and scariest experiences of my life. we were going fishing about a kilometre (well it felt like that) out to sea from this island where we where holidaying. It was a pretty small dingy/boat and we stupidly tried to fish close to these rocks that supposedly had the best fish on the island. However, a couple of freakish waves knocked the dingy against the rocks and it got a huge hole in it. we knew it was taking on too much water so we ditched it and started swimming back to shore.

The only problem with swimming back to shore was that there were no shark nets and we were completely exposed to the ocean current. I almost crapped myself on the way back when we saw something in the distance. It turned out to be dolphins but your mind plays games on you when your out there. damn you JAWS.

after god knows how many hours of side-stroke we got back to shore. Luckily for us we didnt have to pay for the boat but my friend did. He had to split the costs with his dad.

Hmm... I had a junior-high basketball game in which we were short of guys. We had 4, they had like 9. So we just played a man down, 5 on 4. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that we went into overtime about 3 or 4 times. And I was the starting center, so I ended up having to cover 2 people.

Yeah, when you're in the ocean like that you start to realize what an insignificant speck you really are and how freaking impossible it would be for anyone to find you if you got washed out to sea.

I woulda freaked at the sight of dorsal fins too dude - but in case you're ever in that situation again, the way to tell is to look back about 2 feet from the dorsal fin - if you see another small peak coming out of the water, it's a shark. Dolphins' tails are horizontal and don't break the water, sharks are vertical and do.

it was pretty freaky thinking that all of us could easily be pulled out to sea. we could see land so that was comforting, but after hours of swimming you keep wondering to yourself whether ur going to make it to shore. when we started swimming, that was probably the first time that i thought i could die but i was comlpetely overreacting. it was pretty funny swimming back to shore with a few of ur mates because one of them couldn't care less whether he was going to get back to shore, he was just worried about how much it was going to cost him.

worst thing I ever did to another person... hmmm.

I guess it was dating this guy that really really really liked me even though I wasn't interested in him. I thought he was a great friend, but I really had no romantic feelings for him. But, I continued to date him because he'd take me to movies and buy me dinner and we'd go on trips together. When I broke it off with him he was really devastated. I should have been upfront with him from the beginning instead of letting him get attached. :(

secant
11-15-2004, 12:32 PM
^ I've done that before. Not for free dinners but because I just didn't know how to be honest and thought I should just give the guy a chance to see if he would grow on me. he didn't and he got hurt worse in the end.

but that's not the worse thing I've ever done. That would have to be either:
1. hitting someone's truck with my truck and then lying about it
2. kissing my friend's boyfriend
3. sleeping with someone and sneaking off in the middle of the night afterwards
4. or (and I really think these are the worst) in 7th grade and in 2nd grade there were these girls I was friends with that no one else liked. I realized that I would never be popular as long as I was friends with them so i ditched them.

that is a pretty gruesome list. no point in pretending not to be a sinner - only thing to do is try to do better by people in the future.

Worst thing I ever did to a person (that I can remember, and ill add to this post if i can remember a worse thing I did than the one I'm about to list)...

This one girl in high school had a crush on me and I knew it, and everybody that knew us individually knew it too, but I wanted to tell her that I wasn't interested... I didn't have the balls to tell her, so for like 3 or 4 months, I just let her bask in all the frustration and stuff of me not giving her a decision... I was still a good friend to her, and I still am in fact to this day, but I basically gave her a 4 month cold shoulder when it came to us possibly going out.

Letting a relationship go on for too long because I was too much of a chicken to break it off. When I finally did, he had no idea I was having the feelings that I was. But we're still friends, and he ended up dating (and still does) my college roomate :)

Ok new question..... What is the worst thing you ever did to another person, in real life?I've done this more than once, not being up front with a 'friend', letting them think that they mean more to me than they do because I'm too much of a chicken to tell them the truth. Which results in me eventually almost ignoring them.

Probably incessantly teasing this girl Debbie for a few weeks in Middle School. I think I was sick of being teased myself, so I wanted to feel high and mighty on the other side for a while. It was really disgusting of me and even though it was MANY years ago, I still feel horrible about it. I even apologized to her when I saw her years later.

But as a general product (not a brand name) I would have to go with... well I guess I'll have to agree with Idaho and say microwave... simply because I don't have one.

I know a lot of people are gonna freak out when I say this but we could all do without television in my opinion. You can get better, less biased news from the newspaper and radio sources. Television shows rarely, if ever, enrich our lives (even if it IS the history channel, you can still read a book). Society as a whole uses the TV as a substitute for parenting and other forms of interpersonal communication. And there's not a single thing I've ever seen on TV that comes close to the stories in books.

Movies would still be at the movie theatre, music would still be on the radio, society got along just dandy for hundreds of years without it. Trash the TV I say!

Note: This is all said by a girl who pays for DirectTV premium programming, loves her Tivo, and works in an industry where TV makes people rich (advertising). But seriously, we could all do without it - myself included

I'm pretty good at the art of attraction. I'm better at the art of seduction. I think it has to do with knowing how to read people and balancing yourself. For example, just because you know someone likes being kissed on their ears, etc doesn't mean you should just do that all the time. It's about building anticipation and communicating that you know what they like but that you're going to make them wait for it. A lot of it is in the chase. Once the chase is up, it's about making new chases ;)

Art of attraction? I say be confident but approachable. When you enter a room you sould have only 1 thought on your mind: I have arrived...Look at me. It sounds stupid but it does work. Just practice it and you'll see that your posture changes, the way you look at people. I think it is important to look healthy, clean and somewhat fit or energetic. Smile is good, little naughty laugh is good and if you want to attrack men just show that you are sexually available with the usual subconcious signs such as licking your lips or stroking your hips gently etc. Depends on the men how much brain you want to show at first contact.
Art of seduction? that depends entirely on my mood: I can be very streight forward or a bit "manipulative". What I like from a man is surprise, when a man does something unexpected, unforseen but very sensual.
and for both I believe....it is in the brain, stimulate me there and I am half way in heaven, of course the other technical side should be fine too

I'm pretty damned skilled in the art of attraction simply because almost every woman I've ever met and been with was either a hottie or just drop dead gorgeous. I guess you could say I'm a "Stud" :D And besides, I'm a very charming and honest guy and women seem to dig that. Add that to the fact that my personlality is unique and my looks are exceptional and you got a helluva guy in me. ;)

I would pick the future too but this has to be a historical time period. I don't mean to be rude but it can't just be any time era.

I would like to go back to the late 50's early 60's. Civil War Movement, JFK, MLK, LSD...plus if I was returning to the future I would buy 10,000 shares of IBM. When I return to the future I should have just about enough to buy an island...like Cuba. Then sit back drinking Mojitos and smoking cigars for the rest of my like. Ahhhhhhh

secret plans for 2005:
don't have any secret ones.
I plan to go to Thailand on business for most of the month of January, and at some point in the summer, go to the US and visit my family. Maybe on the way I will stop off in Rome for a week and visit some friends.
There are some road trips around Central Asia I would like to take - and a train trip over to China to visit some friends might be nice.
I have a major project for work that I need to complete.

Other than that, same old same old - changing, growing, and living like crazy. I know that my life will be full and interesting. I hope not as painful as the last two years have been, but I have been learning a lot through pain. As Joy Davidman said to CS Lewis, "the pain then is part of the happiness now."

am I sexually active:
not a virgin but I have been celibate for a few years now.

Plans for 2005 - Just to be me and have fun and live life with my friends. Let go of some of the pain plauging me from my father's death and learn to live life one day at a time and take things as they come. And not to be too hard on myself and quit worrying about things I can't change.
